About Us

Kay Story Interiors is a boutique interior design firm serving Connecticut, New York and South Florida. With a 100% on-time/under-budget record, Kay is known as much for seamless client relationships as beautiful interiors. A graduate of The New York Institute of Art and Design and member of the Interior Design Society (IDS), Kay has added her fresh and inspired touch to the interiors of homes and offices from Greenwich to Miami Beach, and recently appeared in Greenwich Magazine for her work on vibrant Riverside boxing gym, Belly & Body.

Kay has a sharp eye for design. She was wonderful to bounce ideas off from and so helpful to take charge when we were traveling during our renovation project and incredibly responsive. Kay has a great sense of taste with woven practicality for today's homes. She is inspired by fresh, simple lines and knows how to graciously balance contemporary needs in traditional homes.

I worked with Kay on a project in the exquisite part of Stamford a few years back. She made my job easy as she knew exactly what was needed for the area and seems to have a natural gift for interior design. After being present for the "before look" at this project I was wowed when I saw the "after look". I have seen other work Kay has done and it's the same reaction every time as her work is consistently very well orchestrated. It was a pleasure to work with her as she has a professional demeanor that makes the project a comfortable environment to work at. When a change occurs, or something doesn't go as planned due to a third party; she has the know how to make the appropriate decisions for everything to come together as originally envisioned and planned. I got paired with Kay on a office interior project.Her eye for detail is sharp she has a great sense style and knows how to listen to her clients needs!Kay picks the materials quickly and does not hold up the project.Kays best attribute is she does not micro manage she lets the others pros do their job.Well done would work with her again!

Kay Story help me choose lighting and redecorate my kitchen. I felt her considerations of space and geometric portions of the room or spot on when choosing the proper lighting, tiles and colors. I also found her to be respectful of my wishes and at the same time encouraging me to stretch my visual perspective to get the most out of my space. She is easy to work with an extremely professional.

Kay is a joy to work with! She really listens and delivers what you are wanting. Kay has incredible personal style and presents varied ideas. She was amazing at helping me create a light and bright space in my mid-town studio. Kay is very patient and willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything is handled properly. I would highly recommend Kay! People ask for her name every time they see her designs!

I have personally worked with Kay on two major projects. Most recently we completed a high end residential home with her. She supplied all of the creative ideas, selections of material, sketches and technical specifications, so it was very easy for us to bring her visions to life. She was a joy to work with. The interior of the entire house was designed by her, from the clean lines of the suspended bathroom vanities, to the spacious great room with the wooden fireplace wall, and the large stone top island in the kitchen. The attention to detail and visual coordination of all the elements in all of the rooms, make the flow of this house seamless.

On Time, Under Budget... AND exceeded expectations! What's better than that? Kay did an amazing job for us. We tried to explain what we needed and gave her a strict budget. After a site visit, Kay quickly came back with some ideas which were exciting, colorful and PERFECT. We liked her work so much... that we've already hired her for another project! I couldn't recommend Kay more highly. She came in to view a space that some of my buyers were looking to purchase. They needed quotes and an outline on what she would propose they do. Estimates and draft were delivered in record time. We closed on the property shortly afterwards and Kay was up and running and renovating/decorating within 12 hours of approval. If you want style, quality and timeless beauty, then look no further. You won't be disappointed. Kay is a great asset to anyone's new project.
