Don’t work with these individuals. Had several technical issues with my new fridge - failed to get my fridge up to acceptable working condition over MULTIPLE visits. They have since basically gave up and are trying to pawn us off onto a third party

Good morning, I'm sorry to hear you have had a difficult experience. We know how frustrating it can be to have an ongoing problem with a new fridge. Our service technicians are well trained and factory certified, kind of like general practitioner doctors, but for appliances. There are times that we are able to identify an issue but realize we need to refer you to a specialist to ensure you receive the best possible care. When we must refer service out to a third party, we continue to advocate for our clients with the manufacturer or service provider as needed, and are available to answer any questions you may have throughout the process.

DO NOT RECOMMEND. Worst experience buying an appliance I’ve ever had. I had used them before and it was great, but this time they were awful to work with. I ordered a new washing machine and sent photos of the installation set up. On delivery day, the guys simply quit mid way through saying the hose length was too long for them (without even bringing out any hoses), and also didn’t try to connect the drain hose. I tried for five days to get ABW to send out people to complete the installation. Each time I spoke with them, they said they could send people soon. And then it would get pushed back. Eventually, I asked for a refund of the fees so that I could pay for a plumber to do it. After weeks had passed, they only refunded a portion of the fees. Even that portion was only after I emailed to follow up (they had said they’d do it and then didn’t).

My 9 year old Viking refrigerator/freezer began acting erratically going on and off in mid-September. After a first time repair visit by Mr. Thurmond Miles, it was decided by me that I should order a new appliance. Visited the ABW showroom in Rockville and with the help of the attentive salesman, Mr. Castro, I ordered a new Subzero. Although it could not be delivered until mid-October, ABW tried every option to see if I could get one sooner. During the entire wait time Mr. Miles kept in touch with me and made several visits to keep the old appliance functioning. Had delivery and installation yesterday and I couldn’t be happier with the efficiency and care that was taken to do that. Wonderful service from start to finish...

My experience with ABW was nothing short of tremendous. Yes, they have a great selection of appliances and very competitive prices. But that doesn't come close to measuring up to their customer service. We found that the staff at ABW, and Steele in particular, really go out of the their way to show the customer how much ABW values them. They stick by their word and simply do the right thing, even when they could likely get away doing less. My only complaint is that they are so darned far away from us! Great job ABW.. we need more retail establishments that remember to love their customers. Thanks so much!

If you like your kitchen… DO NOT EVER USE Appliance Builders Wholesalers for service. They came out to service my Bosch dishwasher and in the process, they put a big gash in one of my cabinets, scratched my floor and to boot they didn't screw the kick plate back in. I'm a long time customer of theirs and have purchased high end appliances for two kitchens now… but I won't be going back again. When I called them they said they would look into it and call me back. As if they were going to ask the service tech if he damaged my kitchen as opposed to coming out and looking at it. I am still waiting for a response a year later! just to repeat… DO NOT EVER USE Appliance Builders Wholesalers they are terrible and will destroy your kitchen!

The front-end service at ABW is great. Excellent and knowledgeable sales people. The back-end service (delivery and installation) is terrible. But by the time you get to that stage, they have you hooked -- they have your money and you are at their mercy. The saga of delivering my fridge/freezer is more than anyone would want to read. In short, I was given the wrong information repeatedly about delivery dates, and each time, when no one showed up -- resulting in delivery nearly a month after first promised. I had to call to inquire to find out what happened. People didn't return calls because, I was later told, they "were afraid" to give bad news. Unprofessional. Thinking, wrongly, that it was just one bad experience, I proceeded with the purchase of two more appliances. And again, the same thing is happening. I was told delivery would be during a certain time window. When no one showed up (and no one called), I had to inquire. Still waiting. Stay tuned.

I have known Kim Calavas, the manager at ABW's Ashburn location, for more than 15 years. Kim's attributes are many - but here are some key points: 1. Kim is very customer focused. While she represents ABW and their high standards, Kim ensures that her customers are completely satisfied with their commitment to both her and ABW. 2. Kim has tremendous knowledge regarding kitchen designs, major appliances the the proper applications for any given situation. What is key, however, is that Kim will seek out the answers to many complex scenarios if she does not know the answer. 3. Kim is honest. What more can one say about that attribute.
