About Us

KDB is a small architectural practice specialising in residential extensions, loft conversions, major renovations and increasingly new build homes. Kish Bhudia is the principal designer and founder, and has over 20 years of experience in this sector. KDB is a team of architectural technologist who have been trained by Kish to consistently deliver a service which is second to none. The approach makes it standout from its competitors. It’s philosophy is hands on and very rugged and ready when it comes to delivery of projects, seeing everything through to the completion of the build. This a design practice that just doesn’t sit behind a desk but loves to get it’s hand dirty. The services offered are tailored to the clients requirements, and our basic package consists of concept plans, negotiating planning consents, detailed building and structural drawings and Party Wall Agreements. However, we can also offer more detailed designs for the interior layouts including rendered 3D imagery and project management to ensure the build is as per the clients specific requirements.

I cannot speak more highly of Kish and his team. He stepped in at short notice after we were let down by another architect who derailed our entire house refurbishment and nearly left us without somewhere to live. His speedy, intelligent and pragmatic advice was invaluable, he calmly got everything back on track despite the difficult time constraints and his no-nonsense, cost effective expertise was much appreciated by us and our builder. I have recommended him to several friends as he is completely reliable and trustworthy.

KDB Building Designs Ltd helped me refurbish a ground floor maisonette. The work involved demolishing a chimney breast (shared with the upstairs flat), and demolishing the rear wall to build an extension and side return. He took a space that was both ugly and impractical and helped me achieve a comfortable open plan kitchen area and living room with dining area that is both cosy and affords space to have a large dinner party. He was pleasant to work with and tolerant of my frequent changes of mind and got on well with my neighbours which facilitated the party wall agreements. He was aware of the fact that I had to stick to a budget and worked with the grain of the building to secure the most practical and efficient use of space.

Jitan Wagjiani at Kdb Building Designs carried out the planning application process for my property extension and internal reconfigurations. It worked well having Jiten as my main point of contact at Kdb providing me with guidance on the planning regulations, preparing the plans for submission and very helpfully answering my queries regarding the planning permission when it was granted.

I found Jiten to be very helpful in maximising the ground floor extension whilst ensuring we stayed within planning laws. The process from discussing what we want vs what we can do vs his experience helped us deliver a truely desireable outcome. Planning application was sussceesful on first attempt and he was able to make a few site visits to ensure the builders stuck to the original plans. I highly recommend this company for their patience and professionalism throughout the process and will be using them again in the future.

The design service we received from Jiten at KDB Designs was first class and made the process much easier from start to finish. Before instructing Jiten I wondered if I could cut these costs by doing this myself, but he proved to be great value by assisting and guiding me through the design stages, and then managing the construction project itself. KDB helped design our ground floor open-plan kitchen and living area and we could not be happier with the result. Kish understood what we needed out of the project and put forward some achieveable and affordable ideas which were transformed into what we have today. As well as designing something practical, Kish's design is aesthetically pleasing from the bricks he recommended, to secret cupboard and storage spaces. He also helped us use the existing garage space in a better way, creating a stand alone utility and cloakroom which has proved both practical and discreet. The design still generates the "wow" factor to new visitors to the property today despite the work being completed in 2015.
