We recently completed a 5 bedroom 5 bathroom renovation. Kim was the first person we contacted after the architect. She was extremely easy to work with. She was able to combine 2 very different styles while listening to both of us. She helped in the process of choosing every finish. This included flooring, lighting, cabinets, counters, hardware, window treatments, paint and everything in between. She worked closely with the contractor and absorbed all of the stress that a project like this can cause. She also had suggestions to improve the architects plan which we implemented. She thinks of everything. Her fees were very reasonable. We would highly recommend Kim.

I selected Kim Johnsen of Austinteriors for the interior design of my townhouse which I purchased in the spring of 2020. It was a complete interior renovation, including the removal of walls, changing the layout of the kitchen and master bathroom and the selection of all the finish materials, colors, fixtures and hardware. This was a scary undertaking for a single woman but Kim took the stress out of it and made it fun. Unlike my previous home, I wanted my new surroundings to be modern, open, light and airy. I was impressed with Kim’s ability to quickly assess my style, tastes and needs and incorporate them into one, well thought out design plan. After interviewing three contractors, I decided to go with Kim’s because during the initial walk through, I liked the way they worked together, bouncing ideas off one another and openly discussing what needed to be done. I had a vision of what I wanted my new home to look like but never would have been able to put it all together without Kim’s expert assistance. She was knowledgeable, patient and resourceful. Her ideas were fresh and creative. Together we selected new furniture, window treatments, lighting fixtures and decor. When I look at the before and after pictures I am amazed at the transformation. My new home is absolutely stunning!!

Kim did such an excellent job after we built our last home in 2016 that we decided to bring her in much earlier in the building process for our new home on the beach. Kim was quick in identifying our likes and dislikes and has provided us with options that are in line with current market trends. Kim always responds to our calls and emails in a timely manner and is very accommodating in meeting our needs. Would recommend Kim to our friends and family.

Interior designers come and go plus they don’t listen to what you want. Kim is the exact opposite she is dedicated to your project stays within your budget and will deliver your vision every time. My husband and I have worked with Kim on many projects over the course of 20 years, even new construction which prevented unnecessary disagreements. Kim is a true professional and the same goes for her contractors.

Very happy with the outcome of my high rise ocean front condo; which, I attribute directly to my designer Kim Johnson of Austinteriors. Kim’s “Sophisticated Coastal” design matched the paint colors incorporated in the floors, moldings, and walls perfectly with the ocean view on three sides of the condo. The bathrooms a mixture of granite, tile, tile mosaics, mirrors, multiple shower heads, and a Toto Washlet (automated toilet master bath only —every woman should have one) are not only aesthetically pleasing but extremely comfortable. The choice of mirrors and angles allows me to view the ocean via my vanity mirror when I shave. From an automation prospective, the lighting system, tv, security, music system; Kim worked very well with the the techs (lighting system has millions of colors and runs many simulations like Northern Lights, thunderstorms, etc. However, I am most impressed with the PVC mirrored ceilings with integral light railings/light diffusers, gives the distinct illusion of 18 foot high ceilings, the same effect in some elevators with mirrored ceilings. Seeing the surf zone and waves in the ceiling is definitely not boring (my highest compliment). Kim found this European design, not yet popular in this country, at a trade show while construction was underway (her Russian installers did an AMAZING job— a nature lovers paradise). The electronics techs were also extremely able utilizing programming skills along whet the Elan System incorporating advanced, relatively inexpensive, lighting technology available at Best Buy. We could not have been more pleased with the services Kim at Austinteriors provided us in our recent kitchen and family rooms remodel. She was professional, thorough and timely in all issues of this major remodel. From space planning and design to selecting cabinetry and fixtures she exceeded our expectations while staying with in our budget. Kim is very professional but so much fun to work with. No pressure, she points you in the direction to find what you need and you make the decisions. I hired her to do my kitchen and master bath. Both are beautiful and reflect me. I would hire her again but I am running out of rooms.. She kept on top of things and always called back when I called her.
