I contacted Lexi in the spring and it took 2 weeks before she could come and view our property. She had some good ideas and I was very interested in working with her. However it took a dot 2-3 weeks before she got back to us. She was stumped on a retaining wall and was going to consult someone else about it. Another week went by and we met her again to discuss the yard and what to do with the wall. We discussed giving us a price on the retaining wall only. Then we would decide. Another week and the quote came in 30k. We contacted Lexi and she agreed with us that we would look at other options for the wall. However in my last email to her that same week, I asked if she would draw up the plans for our yard with plant material, stone, and any other design elements for whole yard design. I said we would pay for the plans as discussed when we met. I have not heard from her since. That was 6 months ago! If your busy or don't want the job just tell people don't leave them hanging!

Lexi Dearborn has completed a number of incredible landscape transformation projects with us including: gardens, patios, 10 ft outdoor fireplace, waterfall, fountain, pergola, trees, and rock work. We are extremely happy with the work Dearborn Designs and her team have done on our front and back yard. Lexi was very professional, completed the job on time and was always available when we needed her. Our yard was overgrown and we were overwhelmed. We hired Lexi Dearborn to design and execute our front and backyard landscaping. Lexi provided us with excellent advice and guidance and worked with us until we were satisfied with the drawings. She then managed all aspects of the project and visited daily to oversee that the work done by her team was done to specification and completed well, within budget and on time. Creative, yet practical. Visionary, yet realistic. Optimistic, yet reliable. These are some of the qualities that made working with Lexi so rewarding. My project involved turning a somewhat uninspiring yard fronting on Lake Simcoe into a contemporary extension of my indoor living space........an outdoor living area for both relaxation and entertaining. With some trepidation, I presented Lexi at our first meeting on-site with an ambitious list of "needs" and "wants". She immediately grasped what I was aiming for, despite my inability to articulate my vision. The design she produced accommodated all the items on my list.......hardscape patio, sitting wall, hammock area, dock, landscaping, firepit, water feature .......all included in a plan which was both logical and flexible. Implementation was also a delight compared to past experience with other contractors. Lexi's crews and suppliers showed up when they said they would and demonstrated pride in their workmanship. The icing on the cake was that the project came in under budget due to savings that were realised during construction. I will continue to recommend Lexi to anyone seeking a creative, reliable professional for their landscape design project.

We have done 4 jobs now and each location has had its own personality. Dearborne Designs has successfully made each home look amazing taking our ideas and wants into consideration while advising us of what makes sense for the specific location. The team is always hard working and keep things tidy while meeting timelines that are set out in the beginning. The detailed plans and resource plant care book are exceptionally thorough and helpful. Will not hire anyone else!

Lexi Dearborn is a true professional. I was in a friend's backyard and it was amazing - obviously done by a professional - so I asked who did the work and he gave me Lexi's name. I'm so glad he did, and I have since passed her name on to several people. She took the time to listen to what we wanted for our backyard space and she delivered exactly the right design for us. Our lot is a very steep hill and so the site itself was very challenging to work with. She terraced the hill with beautiful limestone rock so that we could have a pool and also have flat areas for our daughter to play, have her swingset (when she was little) and her trampoline. We have a huge deck that goes all the way around the pool and overlooks the forest behind us. It's beautiful. Lexi made great use of our challenging yard and the backyard is a showpiece. Our piece of paradise. Lexi also chose plants that would be trouble-free and grow well in our type of soil and she gave us lots of information on the plants she chose. The whole project was money well-spent. It adds great value to our home but most importantly, it has given us a space that we get great use and enjoyment out of. Had used Dearborn Design 7 years ago and again this year for our backyard project. New landscaping in the backyard including an inground pool. Lexi sat down with my husband and myself and designed our backyard paradise. Couldn't be happier how it turned out. It's spectacular.
