We consider Liza to be our go to designer and - after our time working together - a close family friend. She helped my wife and I decorate our first home after we got married in DC and was kind enough to continue supporting us when we moved to Vermont. I appreciate her attention to detail, pragmatic attitude, design philosophy, and willingness to work (and stay) within the pre-defined budget. She exceeds expectations when it comes to responsiveness and went so far to travel to VT, from DC, to help us put together our new home. Liza is a creative professional, who was instrumental in the beautiful redecorating of my living space. Liza took the time to understand my lifestyle and the look I was hoping to achieve. We worked with Liza for interior decorating services in multiple parts of our new home on the Chesapeake Beach in 2022 and 2023. She is excellent. We were aiming for a particular style (MCM) and she created great options in our budget in that style. From furniture selection to custom pillows, carpeting, and bedding. She gave us good choices, reactted quickly to feedback and has an excellent sense of color, space, and texture.

Working with Liza was fantastic. From our first meeting, we felt she clearly understood our design aesthetic and worked with us to help us realize our vision during a major 10-month renovation of our newly purchased house in Annapolis. Liza was readily available when we needed her and advised us on everything from developing design concepts to where to source numerous materials to working with our contractor. She passed along her designer discount on furniture and many other purchases and helped us understand where we could save money. One of the things we appreciated so much was that she offered excellent design advice based on her experience, which opened us up to many new ideas, but she also understood that this was our renovation. Renovations, especially of an entire house, can be disruptive and stressful. Liza’s honesty, professionalism, and collaborative approach helped us navigate the process, avoid mistakes, and make the whole process much easier. Our renovated house has exceeded our expectations, and Liza was a big part of that result.

Liza is the whole package...... thoughtfully prepared, with tracking and the perfect delivery! I contacted Liza to help me redesign and furnish a basement studio. The job had overwhelmed me for some time but she greeted the challenge with aplomb. From the start, she came out and measured everything and had suggestions by the evening. The entire process from beginning to end was a breeze. She answered all of my concerns promptly and communicated numerous details when ordering furniture, lights, and floor coverings. She understood the look and feel I had hoped to achieve and delivered beyond my expectations. I plan to use her skills when redoing a master bath. I have truly enjoyed working with Liza. We just moved to a new house which is quite bigger than our previous one, so we needed to find a lot of new items. Liza has helped us to make the new house to feel cozy and truly ours. She has given us great advice about items that are worth splurging on and ones that we shouldn’t spend a fortune on. She listens to our wants and needs and offers great solutions. We didn’t want the designer to do all the job for us so we are very happy with the dynamic where we slowly browse around ourselves and then Liza jumps in with great advice when we have questions. I highly recommend her service!

Liza is amazing. After having another designer fall through, I was surprised that Liza picked up when I called, well after hours. I immediately connected with her and after meeting her and hearing the options for her support, hired her for my major renovation. We spent the next year texting, talking, walking me off the cliff of anxiety and making my home the most beautiful picture of who our family is! She listened not only to my input, but included my husband, showed me multiple options in realistic price points, and allowed freedom to choose things that sometimes were outside of "design rules" if it was something we loved! After a year, I still call on her frequently for design issues and opinions---I have her on "retainer"! I have recommended her to multiple people because I honestly could not have had a more positive experience with an incredible outcome!

Liza has been tremendously helpful to us in renovating our kitchen, family room and two bathrooms. We have worked with her for over a year as these projects have taken shape, and she has recommended excellent features, designs and materials. The results have been outstanding. She listens carefully to our thoughts and preferences, and helpfully recommends a broad range of price points and furnishings for us to consider. She consistently replies to our inquiries on a timely basis, and provides clear and comprehensive guidance. We would work with her without hesitation on future projects.

Liza has helped me design, from scratch, a mountain cabin and to update design on my primary residence. I am very pleased with the results and have really enjoyed working with her. She is very flexible in finding pieces that reflect whatever price range works best for the customer.

Could not sing higher praises for Liza Ryner and her work. Liza was our partner in a major renovation of our home in Arlington. We were returning to it after more than a decade away and had to manage much of the renovation remotely. Liza took the time to get to know us and how we wanted to live in our home. We sent her general ideas (photos of colors and styles we liked) and then moved into specifics. Liza has a sophisticated color sense and we could use color to tie rooms together, as opposed to a whole series of separate entities. She was terrific with all aspects of the design, including tile and woodwork, flooring, and light fixtures, as well as some of the architectural details that came up in the course of the renovation. We soon came to trust her judgment to the extent we'd sometimes say, "we can't decide, you decide!" She would and she'd get it just right. She never forced her views or preferences on us but stayed consistent with what we were trying to do with our home. I also note that Liza was not just a trusted partner for us but also for our architect and general contractor. Both eventually trusted her taste and judgment so much that they would "check with Liza" without us even asking. Our architect has declared he would consult with Liza for the colors in his next personal renovation. I'll also note that Liza was simply a pleasure to work with and became a friend by the end of the project.

Highly recommend Liza! I wanted to do limited work to improve my living room and home office--to make the rooms more finished, replace an old sofa, and make the office a better Zoom background. Liza had excellent ideas and suggestions, and kept the price well within budget. Plus she was fun to work with. And I love the result!

Liza was very professional. I had just moved into a new house with a mish mash of furniture. Liza was willing to work with me to use the furniture I had while adding new complimentary piece to bring it all together. Liza was very easy to work with and had a lot of different and interesting ideas that I had not thought of. I highly recommend her design service.
