About Us

Owner Steve Lytle has been a landscape Horticulturist in Orange County, CA for over 35 years. The first half of his career was spent working in retail nurseries as a California Certified Nurseryman and nursery manager for several different nurseries throughout Orange County. This is where customer service, excellence and integrity was ingrained in him as the only respectable way to do business, and remains as his defining characteristic today. Steve then moved into the wholesale end of the nursery industry as a sales rep for one of So. California's largest wholesale nursery servicing dozens of retail nurseries, The Home Depot, Lowes, Target, and other Garden centers. This is where he honed his knowledge of plants and trees that serves him well in his landscapes today. It was then about 25 years ago when he decided to combine all of his skills and talent from his earlier career along with his gifted artistic eye into one of Orange counties highest quality landscape companies, built on a long list of very satisfied customers. (Many of which he is proud to call his friends.) Steve has provided a breath of fresh air in an industry filled with many shady contractors and fly by night landscapers only in it to make a fast buck. For a start, Steve did what he said he was going to do, in the time frame he set up and for the price he quoted. Do you know how rare we are finding this to be true for other contractors?!!! He helped remedy drainage problems and made suggestions that helped us get our backyard and front yard to match our goals of less water usage, less maintenance, and so calm and peaceful to sit and enjoy. Thank you for the beautiful yard, Steve.

We have used Steve Lytle for two projects and have been very happy with the results. He's conscientious, always on time, listens to what the homeowner wants and designs within those parameters. Once he starts the project, he stays until it is finished--he doesn't try to work on 2 or 3 projects at the same time. His crew has been with him for many years, which speaks well for him as an employer also. We will have no hesitation in using him again for any project--large or small.

When I originally started getting bids for a large hardscape/softscape project, I was introduced to Steve through my landscape architect. First time he came out to do an estimate, he showed up on time!! Amazing right? I've had too many bad experiences with contractors, so showing up and showing up on time was a great start. I ultimately chose Steve to complete the project and he literally showed up every single day (yes, on time) until the project was DONE, and my project wasn't exactly a small few day project, it was a good 3.5 weeks. Steve is very knowledgeable about various trees and had a lot of good input (this was important to me because i'm a hardcore gardening nut!). He was able to source all of the plants and trees i wanted at a reasonable cost, installed full irrigaton system, led lighting, drains, built a custom trellis for my vining passion fruits, etc. He did everything and did it well. I endorse him 100%, he gets the job done, is trustworthy and stands behind his work! He came out to fix an irrigation line that a rodent appeared to have chewed on and was leaking the day after i called him about it! My neighbors were so pleased with MY project they hired him to do work for them too! Stop searching around and give steve a call, you won't regret it!

Lytle Landscape Construction, specifically Steve Lytle, did a major landscape project on our 35 year old home in 2017. Lytle Landscape Construction did an excellent job executing our landscape plan, even adjusted in areas they felt were problematic. They were “right on”, they were on schedule, on budget. Very important to us, was they were honest, Steve's workers were on time, respectful & cleaned up every day! Steve was at the job site everyday making sure the work was done correctly, meeting with us on progress and schedule. Most impressive has been their follow up for post work adjustments & add on’s! We highly recommend Lytle Landscape Construction, they do it right!

Steve's knowledge and experience were evident from the very beginning and throughout the job. We did a complete front yard makeover converting from grass to all native, drought resistant plantings. The job also included a dry creek bed, flagstone walk ways, with lighting, and an upgraded irrigation system. All work was done to our satisfaction, and once begun, without delay. Steve was available to explain everything and answer any of our questions along the way. April 2017 update: Steve's plantings are thriving now as the beds are all filling in nicely. Someone drove over a sprinkler head, cracking it, and causing a leak. Steve sent someone out the next day to fix it, no charge. Great follow up service!

I have worked with Steve on various projects that I have designed, which he has installed. His bids are detailed, thorough and reasonably priced. He works on one project at a time thus giving his full attention to every client that he works with.
