About Us

Stuga imports and sells magnificent floors, handpicked from one of the oldest manufacturers of hardwood flooring in the world. We deal in hardwoods manufactured by Kährs, a world-renowned Swedish manufacturer who invented the multi-layer floating hardwood floor in 1941. Kährs is widely considered to be the standard in hardwood flooring, known for innovations in design, quality, and sustainable manufacturing. In 1984, they introduced the first solvent-free finish. Kährs products exceed both California CARB2 and European standards for toxic emissions in adhesives and finishes. The idea for Scandinavian Hardwoods came after years of countless conversations with homeowners, designers, architects, and builders. The consistent theme: they wanted more than just a beautiful floor. They wanted insight into manufacturing locations (not just the seller or importer) and what materials are used and why. They wanted to understand the product’s environmental impact and it’s effect on indoor air quality and human health. Love our floors from Scandinavian Hardwood! Marc was so helpful from start to finish. We had very specific elements we were looking for including style, color and finish. Marc kept sending samples until he selected the perfect one for us, Portofino. The biggest selling point was a pre-finished wood floor with a square edge (no bevel) that looks as close to site-finished hardwoods as you can get without all the mess, extra labor and acclimation period. The installation went very well, including the stairwell that came out beautiful and some work around an existing wood burning stove. I recommend both Scandinavian Hardwoods and the Kahrs product.

I heard about Scandinavian Hardwoods from my architect and the minute I saw the sample of the Indossati Hardwoods, I never looked at another wood product. I could not be more pleased with both the product and the service the Marc provided from day one. He also recommended a very good installer and monitored the install throughout the process. My home and staircase were very custom and he made sure that everything was perfect. I loved it so much that I ended up adding hardwoods upstairs as well. I highly recommend Marc!

Scandinavian Hardwoods recently supplied the Kährs flooring to replace all the wood floor in our home. We couldn't be more pleased with the both the product and the service. Marc was a pleasure to work with, responsive, communicated proactively and truly went the extra mile. The flooring we wanted (wide plank Nouveau Greige) was out of stock in the U.S. and Marc was able to expedite product from Sweden to allow completion of the job before Thanksgiving. The new floor truly transformed the look of our home. I highly recommend Scandinavian Hardwoods.

Scandinavian Hardwoods' product is second to none, period. There is no better value on the market! We get compliments on the look, feel, and design of our floor everytime someone visits our home. Perhaps the best part of the product....the installation. It is easy and hassle-free while many of the cheap tongue and groove products on the market require much more time, nail guns, and frustration.

Marc is amazing. When I first contacted Marc about flooring he brought samples over within a few days. He helped us pick the right color flooring to go with our house-he has a great eye! We purchased the flooring from Marc and had our general contractor install the wood but Marc was kind enough to stop by daily during installation and help with any problems that arose. He gave us the much needed attention we desired and is so easy to work with. We are incredible happy with our floors and will definitely purchase any future flooring from Marc!
