About Us

Orchard Interior Design was established in 1996 in Didsbury, Manchester by Robert & Marjorie Middlehurst, a husband & wife team. They provide a friendly & approachable service. They make bespoke curtains, roman blinds & soft furnishings...& offer a re-upholstery service and also make new upholstered furniture. They take care of all orders and projects, no matter what the budget is and no matter what the size. Their shop is full of lovely goodies & present ideas from £5!! So pop in & enjoy a good browse! There are also lots of fabric & wallpaper pattern books to have a good look through, including many of the season's current collections. They're very approachable & helpful & love meeting customers & clients ~ old & new. They have the most fabulous team...who have been with them since the beginning!

Really pleased with my new blinds. Excellent service from choosing the fabric and measuring through to the fitting. I would definitely recommend.

We have worked with Marjorie on a number of house projects over the last 10 years, from sourcing curtains, blinds and furniture to fabrics and re-upholstery, her help and advice has always been fantastic. Highly recommend working with them for a quality and friendly service and products.

Orchard interiors are fabulous they can't do enough to help, for example they let us have the sample books in our house to allow us more time to choose the fabric. They are hands on, they will come to your house to help and advise and you always feel that they are experts. Highly recommended

A close friend of mine recommended that I approach Marjorie at Orchard Interiors, to sort out my new home. The whole process, from looking at Marjorie's suggestions for the curtains and blind fabrics, through to their installation, was great fun. I am delighted with the quality of the finished blinds, curtains, and voiles. Additionally, I am pleased that Marjorie's gentle persuasion has resulted in my home being more beautiful than I could have ever imagined.

Marjorie provided us with fantastic service right from the off. We were unsure with regards material, type and weight of curtains we wanted but she was more than accommodating with the provision of samples and guidance. We're delighted with the service received from Orchard Interiors and would have no qualms recommending them.

Living in the Isle of Man , it is sometimes hard to find what you want when re-designing a home . Working with an interior company on island , I used Orchard Interiors to source , provide , & deliver a range of fabrics & materials and they liaised with the IoM company and the furniture supply company in Europe. The logistics around this were not easy but Marjorie at Orchard worked tirelessly to de;liver all that was asked of her..on time .. & on budget . Without her help & support , the project would not have completed on time and I cannot recommend her services highly enough. I recently returned to Orchard Interior design as I wanted upholstery and soft furnishings for a large, kitchen, dining, family space I was creating. I had a basic idea in mind but Orchard Interiors gave me advice, guided me and inspired me. They took my very basic idea and turned it into a stunning scheme. They advised on the colour palette and helped me to choose fabrics which created the look I wanted but with a real 'wow factor' added. They assisted with the types of fabric which would be suitable and practical as well as looking beautiful. Marjorie and Robert are fantastic people to work with and their shop in Didsbury, Manchester is a delight!

We had our daughter's bedroom curtains made and fitted by Orchard Interiors and were incredibly impressed with the service we received and the fantastic quality of the curtains which, almost a year later, still look like new. We had a huge range of fabrics to choose from and nothing was too much trouble - from measuring up for us, getting them made quickly and fitting them, ensuring a perfect fit. We have since had another curtain made, with the same excellent quality and service and will definitely be using Orchard Interiors for our lounge curtains, once our puppy is old enough not to chew them! The shop is a delight too and well worth a visit.
