I had purchased items from Mel before, these included prints, notebooks, postcards and tea towels, so I knew the quality was excellent and her design style really appeals to me. I had been thinking about a bespoke map for quite some time, jotting down place names and image ideas but we were in the throes of moving so a very busy time. Once moved in, I knew where I wanted my map to sit on a feature wall, so I contacted Mel whom responded within 24 hours. I sent all my place names, ideas and image ideas over and Mel helped with colours and patterns and text styles and sizes, showing me previews and making sure I was happy with the progress at each stage. In fact the map took less than a week to complete which included delivery to me - incredibly fast, efficient, friendly and professional service I couldn't have hoped for more! Very pleased with the whole experience and of course the finished result - perfect!

Shakespeare's Globe

Mel Smith worked with Shakespeare's Globe to create a new identity for our annual family festival, Shakespeare's Telling Tales. Mel had to work to a challenging brief within our new brand and visual identity, which had not been launched at that time. She was able to explore and understand the importance of storytelling and imagination in this collaborative process to piece together a wonderful array of illustrated characters and elements for the series. Mel's work has proved adaptable for each needed use, with artwork including her illustrations being displayed in print through leaflets, stickers, calendars and posters, as well as for digital use. Each step progressed well in a timely and efficient manner with frequent communication during this project providing a successful outcome and it was a pleasure working with Mel throughout.

Mel was an absolute pleasure to work with! Despite the time difference (USA vs. UK) she was always extremely prompt in her responses. We really wanted a custom map to commemorate our honeymoon and what Mel delivered far surpasses our expectations! I would absolutely work with her again on a future project - if you are interested in a beautiful, custom piece of work Mel should be your go-to! She made the entire process painless and actually quite fun!

Mel did a fantastic job for me. She designed a bespoke map of the world with a list of specific destinations visited highlighted on the map. Mel adapted the design to my requirements including the desired colour scheme and the map print was received safely and is excellent quality. Mel responded promptly and politely to all communications and sent me proofs for my approval and feedback. She was a pleasure to deal with and I would recommend Mel and her work.

I would highly recommend getting in touch with Mel to bring any ideas you might have to life, she is the one for the job! We were looking to create a bespoke illustrated map of Peru for a group trip we are organising as part of our Alpaca business, after alot of umming and ahhing I came across one of Mel's designs and thought this is just what we need! Mel was extremely helpful and friendly, creating a perfect image incorporating our destinations, route plan and enough alpacas to sink a reed canoe! I love the vibrant colours and personality Mel brings to her work and the very quick and efficient way it was produced, saving us a lot of time and faff, also brilliant value for money! Without a doubt we will be working with Mel again in the not too distant future. Big thank you and thumbs up from us :-)
