About Us

Profile: Marten Haigg Getting asked originally by my Grandfather to help out in his work shop at the mere age of 11, to me that was a whole new world opening up before my eyes. My Grandfather was a loving and very understanding man however, on the job sites he was nothing less than a true perfectionist. His company mainly focusing on castle-and church restorations throughout Sweden. The tasks were to restore and replicate existing finishes, frescoes , murals, opulent finishes with gold leaf, veined Italian marbles as well as plasters. The execution was always expected to be exquisite, and so were the expectations of dress code as well as behavior. Working for such a talented artist, my Grandfather taught me more than anyone could ever have asked for. Now owning my own Decorative Finishing company since 1997, having worked for the rich and famous to successful business professionals, It has always been my goal to carry on the tradition and the work ethic that was once taught to me by my Grandfather.

Marten worked on my home this past year distressing the wood ceiling, using lime plaster inside in all the common living spaces and used lime wash on a wall outside the house. He is not only incredibly talented and professional but he really invests in his projects. He came up with such incredible ideas that helped elevate the beauty of my home. He understood what I was trying to accomplish and made sure that happened. He's fast but meticulous. Overall it was an incredible experience and I would recommend him to anyone and hire him again and again.

I was referred to Marten Haigg while looking for an experienced faux finish artist. Right from the get go, Marten provide my client and I, a detailed understanding of the A-Z of decorative finishes. The scope required Marten to add faux finishes to bathroom walls and bathroom & kitchen cabinetry through out a large home remodel. He showed up on time everyday (this seems to be a rarity in this line of business), worked diligently and went above and beyond to rectify any issues that may have occurred. The outcome of his work was impeccable. I would recommend Marten for any future clients looking for an expert in this field.

I moved to this house 7 years ago. The main reason that I moved here, was the fantastic floor to ceiling Venetian Plaster that the owner had done to this house before we moved in. I had always wondered who did this? until, this November where we had water leak in one of the walls and we had to cut the wall to fix the leak. I was thinking how am i going to match this beautiful work. Luckily, we found out that the original contractor was Marten Haigg. He came in with his equally professional crew and re-did the entire floor to ceiling work on the wall that we had cut open and was able to match it as close as possible. I definitely recommend Marten for your jobs.

Last year we were fortunate to gain the artistic services of a restoration artist for our home in Montana that has worked on many multi-million homes in the northwest. Her work was incredible and it was not until I saw what Marten Haigg could do with a piece of wood that would reach out and mesmerize you, would I have believed that there was anyone else capable of surpassing her artistry. But Marten did, big time! He has a dedication to making the project better than perfect. He put his artistry on three different wood projects in our home over the holidays that just makes me smile every time I enter our home. Marten is a conscientious perfectionist and I would not hesitate to recommend him for any project that requires an artist’s touch.

Marten is a maestro and a gentleman. He created the most wonderful surface finishes for my kitchen counters, dining table and bathroom walls. Most importantly, he works from a place of total integrity. He won't leave until his work is perfect, which is almost unheard of in the construction business. He stayed an extra 2 days beyond what we had scheduled to get just the right shades of white and grey on my bathroom walls. Thank you Marten for helping me execute the vision on my home.

I had the privilege of meeting Marten and hiring him to match the finish on a wall that had sustained water damage in the home of Larry & Shawn King... Nothing short of perfection would do. Marten came highly recommended and to his credit, far surpassed all expectations I had. Marten's eye and artistic talent are absolutely unparalleled! His vision is unique, his work ethic flawless and his ability to create a masterpiece on any surface, uncanny. I highly recommend Marten and look forward to working with him on future projects in the King home. We simply will not hire anyone else!

Marten is extremely talented and very pleasant to work with. I hired him to paint some faux marble panels matching the existing marble in a bathroom at Greystone Mansion Designers Showcase. His work was so perfect it even fooled some other designers.

We had a tragic flood in our home in 2010 and as we were completing the rebuild we wanted to add some new nice touches. Our masonry fireplace was nice but bland. We had two beautiful wood columns in our entryway. My wife worked with Marten to transform those ordinary objects into incredible works of art. The columns now look like we flew to Tuscany and chose amazing marble columns. After we saw his work, we had him match the hearth with that warm marble effect. His work was so good we kept finding things that would display his amazing talent. He did some gold leaf reliefs in our dinning are and I asked him to create a special reflective image in my wine room. It too turned out spectacular. He even offered to do a couple of frescos out on our wall adjoining our pool. Besides his talent, he is respectful, honest, and trustworthy. On occasion he would watch our son when we had to run out for a moment. How many artist/designers would you trust watching your child?
