We recently added a sunroom to our home. We decided to use reclaimed products as I love the rustic look. I could not be happier with the job done by this company. A husband and wife team deconstructs barns, processes the lumber, and finds their product a home. We did gray barn siding on the ceiling, a hand hewn fireplace mantel, and purchased a few "barn artifacts" as accent pieces. I am planning on contracting this company again when I do the kitchen. I absolutely fell in love with their counter and table top portfolio. I must add that the wood they are using is unique and their work is custom. No two projects can be exactly alike, and it is impossible to mass produce. I highly recommend using this company for any project that includes barn wood.

I ordered a number of beams from Wooden Revolutions, Cedar Grove, Indiana, and spoke to Caleb Searcy, a principal of the company. Over the course of some time, we agreed to beam dimensions in both girth and length to beams he said he had on hand, and this was done in writing with numerous emails back and forth. I also agreed to let Caleb do some extra work to clean the beams with a special rotary brush he had, and this was an additional $2900 for this work. When I received the beams, I found that Caleb had substituted significantly smaller beams in girth for most of the beams, and in two cases had delivered beams which were unusably short for our application. As a typical example, in one situation, he had told me he had a beam 8”x 9” in girth, it turned out to be 6.5”x 7.5”; this is a 32% difference in volume of wood for a given length. This represents a cheaper beam than he had told me about and promised, as the beams were priced generally according to board feet in a beam. We had significant dimensional errors on about 60% of the beams we received, with mostly all of the bigger beams being smaller than promised. In addition, the cleaning of the beams was quite incomplete; perhaps only 10% of the total was done, but he had charged me for 100%. Because I was out of state, it was inconvenient and expensive for me to be present upon receipt of the beams, so I relied upon Caleb’s representation for the beam sizes and amount of work completed. His misrepresentation of beam sizes and lack of work wasn’t discovered until the beams were received, which was well after he already had his last payment. I am very disappointed in the way he misrepresented what dimensions of beams he had and the work he had performed, and I cannot recommend that anybody do business with him or his company.
