Having graduated from a textiles college with a degree in knitwear design, Ausra has since always been hands on. With a strong understanding of construction and an excellent visual mind, she moved on from clothing design to curtains. Having made curtains, blinds, soft furnishings and upholstering furniture for 15 years, Ausra opened her soft furnishings showroom in August 2014. Since then, the business has really taken off, as clients were impressed by her astounding knowledge of not only soft furnishings and curtains, but of interior design, as well as the technical aspects of decorating. Alongside making curtains, and all accessories, Ausra project managed and built an extension for her home in 2011. During this project, she sourced her own builders, materials and overlooked all architectural drawings. Her hands on approach to everything means that she is now able to advise her clients on their projects, whether it be a pair of curtains for their home, a decorating project, or a full redesign of their home. At Milano House, Ausra provides an interior styling & decorating service; from detailed measuring throughout to installation and dressing of curtains, blinds, soft furnishings and accessories. She can supply wall coverings, bespoke furniture, upholstery, lighting, paint and carpets.
