Molly Bachelor Architect

Molly Bachelor was our AMAZING architect. She was wonderfully professional, very competent, an experienced hand, while at the same time understanding of our goals. Let's just say I'm not your average client. Putting up with me and my extremely exacting design goals and material choices, as well as second-guessing every design choice I'm sure was not easy. She handled it with grace and expertise, and took the designs I had sketched and made them functional and lovely. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

We hired Molly for a two story addition which included a kitchen remodel and plans for a future master suite. Molly's design was thoughtful and creative and it was clear she understood our aesthetic. She was reliable with time and budget expectations and we enjoyed an nice collaborative relationship with Molly and our builder. She provides honest and straightforward recommendations and it is clear she has a vested interested in the final product. We would not hesitate to use her again or recommend her to friends or family.

We purchased a modest 1967 house with mid-century design elements, but the existing exterior doors and light fixtures did not enhance the home. We hired Molly to help us re-consider the entrance and select exterior paint colors to compliment the architecture. Molly was very responsive, helping us think through our multiple "what if's" and "could we's" with great patience and skill. She helped us to keep focus, and presented options in terms of styles and brands for entrance doors, entrance approach, exterior lighting, paint colors for brick, siding and trim, and the addition of a wood-clad porch ceiling. Her fees are competitive and well-defined, and we would not hesitate to work with her again.

We were fortunate to have had Molly Bachelor as our architect. Unfamiliar with building and designing a home, my husband and I relied on Molly to instruct and guide us throughout the design and build process. In the design phase, Molly was sensitive to our needs, responsive to our desires, and creative in her approach. Her knowledge and experience made some of the hard decisions easy and gave us the necessary confidence to move forward. In fact, thanks to Molly’s organized and methodical approach, the whole design process was much more enjoyable than we had imagined. Molly helped us in our selection of a builder and worked closely with us as we entered into the construction phase. She was available throughout the process to clarify and, occasionally, to assist in making modifications as needed. We were grateful to have the additional expertise of Molly as we confronted the challenges of construction. Now that we are residing in our lovely new home, we continue to be impressed with Molly’s abilities and we’d recommend her without hesitation to others.

Molly Bachelor was our architect for a recent project that involved a new front porch with Azek deck and steps and a cedar ceiling, a new exposed-aggregate concrete front walkway with a solid steel blacksmith-crafted handrail, LED path lighting on cedar posts supporting the railing and along the walkway and driveway, and new paint on the plywood panels between the redwood siding on our midcentury modern home. Molly did an excellent job of listening to our needs and desires, and then developing a plan that would enhance the curb appeal and increase the safety of our home. Her design respected the style of the house but gave it a unique flair. She connected us with a contractor who was as pleasant to work with as she was. Molly was easy to reach when a question was raised or a decision needed to be made – by us or by one of the contractor’s crews. We are delighted with the results and highly recommend Molly Bachelor as an architect.
