About Us

I started Molly Howe Design in 2013 after ten years in the industry working for some of the top remodeling firms in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area. The one-woman design and remodeling firm that began in my spare bedroom has grown to include a team of talented, dynamic, designers who share my values of authenticity, warmth, and a livable approach to interior design. We are a small, close knit group of experienced designers who LOVE what we do. As a team, we focus on functionality and practicality, without sacrificing the beauty or comfort of a space. We pride ourselves on out-of-the box thinking, create solutions that enhance your vision and make your project truly one-of-a-kind. Molly was a great asset to have for our complete kitchen reno and was especially helpful in keeping the project moving forward and preventing the project from being delayed by any design decisions. Molly was able to understand my style quickly and all of her recommendations catered to what my husband and I liked. Being fairly indecisive, it was nice having Molly's unbiased opinions and to inform us what is a classic style choice vs. something that may go "out of style" in a few years. Loved having Molly's help!

We have worked with Molly on a few projects. She rocks! She gets to know your style quickly and is open to ideas to work in those 'must have' fine details you want and keeps the design in check. She paints the grand picture for you. It was helpful for us when she gave us three choices of the big picture. We then selected our favorite one and worked from there! She has been extremely responsive no matter how little of detail we have been fixated on or how long it has been since we last contacted her. It has really become an on-going relationship.

Molly is an amazing designer. She listened to our vision, turned it into a concept, converted that to a construction plan, and helped us make the right finishing selections to complete our project. We partnered with Molly for our full gut and remodel of our master bath and main floor (kitchen, bathroom, family room, living room, dining room, office, mudroom, and laundry.) It was a large project, involving removing and moving walls and redesigning multiple rooms. Molly was able to turn our vision into a an reality! We are so pleased. Molly was with us from concept to construction to completion. We could not have tackled this project without her. Thank you Molly!

Molly was AWESOME! My wife and I really loved her! We utilized Molly to help redo the space on our lower level (basement). Now we have an Irish Pub theme that has really come to life primarily due to Molly's expertise. The best thing about Molly is that she LISTENS! Molly exceeded ALL our expectations! Not only was she GREAT at design, but she really could answer many of our general building/construction questions. We were really impressed with her knowledge acumen. She is a good communicator and she helped us avoid many mistakes that we didn't anticipate that definitely saved us money in the end. In other words, she anticipates problems that your ideas might create because she has already seen it. Molly enjoys her job and it definitely shows. We engaged Molly Howe Design based on Molly's extensive experience in the design of finished basements. From start to finish, Molly was a great listener, and incorporated all of our wish list items into a design plan that really fit our vision. At the same time, she provided tons of suggestions and things we hadn't thought of, which spoke well to her experience and really enhanced our original vision. Once Molly completed our 3-D design, she was invaluable in helping us select all of the finishings for the basement, and again presented several options to us that we previously hadn't considered. Ultimately, what we wanted was someone who had been through this exercise many times and could help us bring the project to life, and Molly fit that bill perfectly. I can't imagine having done this project without her. We would unquestionably use her again, and would recommend her to others without hesitation.

We have worked with Molly on two renovation projects in our home over the past several years. She was the project lead for basement build out ($70K) and the end results exceeded our expectations! We were extremely pleasured with her level of knowledge and experience. She was conscious of our budget yet provided really great decorating suggestions. To this day we get compliments on the space every time we have company. Last year Molly was instrumental in helping us with our kitchen remodel ($25K w/o appliances). Again, her attention to detail and keen sense of colors / style worked beautifully in our home. Molly is a pleasure to work with, and we would strong recommend her for any small or large project!

I can't say enough good things about Molly. Not only is she a talented designer but her genuinely warm personality makes her so easy to work with. Molly has a knack for being able to draw out of you the style and look you are trying to achieve without being pushy or overbearing. She has great taste and can work with any budget and will guide you to the selections that will ensure you will stay within that budget. Molly first came to us as the lead designer for the basement finishing firm we hired to finish our basement. She was able to take our needs and wants and turn it into the space we had been hoping for. We liked the end result so much we hired her to help us remodel our bathrooms. Molly will work at the pace you desire and goes above and beyond to ensure you are comfortable and happy with the selections you have chosen. In Molly I have found a designer that I trust and who I know delivers high quality work. I look foward to working with Molly on additional projects in our home and I recommend her without reservation.

Molly was fantastic to work with! She listened to what we wanted in our basement and was able to design a beautiful space! This is our second time working with Molly, first time as an independent and both experiences have been great. She is very accomodating, gets what we like and can turn it into an amazing design. We appreciate the multiple design options provided to give us perspecitves we hadn't thought of. We would definately work with Molly again with other design opportunites arise.

Molly has assisted us on a number of different occasions. The first was in the design of our basement finish where we were thoroughly impressed with her outside of the box thinking. She listens carefully to your interests and pays attention to your style. We were blown away with the design she came up with for our basement and the material selections (paint, tile, carpet, cabinets, etc.) she suggested. It was much more creative than what we could have imagined ourselves and was exactly our style. We were very pleased with the finished product and received many compliments. More recently Molly helped us remodel our small foyer space to make it appear more grand and contemporary. She came to us with a few different options and patiently walked us through the options calling out the pros and cons to help in the decision making process (as my husband and I don't always agree). We thoroughly trust her judgment and ultimately go with what she thinks is best for our space, and have always been happy with the outcome. Any time we are debating on colors or tile selection or need a decorating tip, I never hesitate to contact Molly, as she is always quick to respond and helps us get our decision made so we can move forward with the project. I would highly recommend her.

I would highly recommend Molly Howe Design for your design and remodeling needs. Molly helped us achieve the dream kitchen we were looking for and was so great to work with. She is friendly and knowledgeable and so easy to work with. She is also very responsive during the whole process. Commented: Is the wall behind the TV built out?Hi Petra! Yes, we have the wall behind the TV about 9" from the front of the cabinets. The wall behind the cabinets is 24" behind the front of the cabinets. I hope that helps!

Commented: cabinet depthHi there! The cabinets are 18" deep. We ran a tech tube behind the wall to connect the TV with the cabinets. The remote works with a RF sensor.
