About Us

*Authorized Armstrong Dealer* The Next Day Floors story begins in 1960, when self-made businessman Mark Helman opened the first “Carpet Fair” store and showroom in Glen Burnie. The focus of the company was value and price, and Mark’s motto was, “The Customer is King!” The Carpet Fair stores continued to expand throughout the region, and in the 1970s, Mark opened a new chain of warehouse stores he called “Bill’s Carpet Warehouse.” In 1977, Next Day Floors’ current president, Maureen Anderson, began working as a saleswoman in one of these stores. Throughout the 1980s, the stores continued to thrive, expanding to the Washington suburbs. In the 1990s, the two chains merged to form “Bill’s Carpet Fair,” and featured a showroom as well as in-stock flooring. In 2000, when customers desired an in-home shopping experience, Mark created a new division, “Next Day Floors.” By 2014, all stores would be named Next Day Floors.
