We hired The Architects to design and manage the complete refurbishment of our 1920's semi-detached home. We were concerned that the original art-deco style and classic lines of the house were not compromised, yet wanted a true contemporary feel inside, especially in the extension. Sinead from The Architects brought a combination of historical sensitivity and eye-catching style to the design and build. We were delighted with the result and she delivered within budget. She was very sensitive to our thoughts and opinions as the project progressed.

After reviewing various architects and checking references we selected Niall Brown the-architects in Dun Laoghaire. Niall started by ensure he understood our requirements, provided options, recommended a good selection of builders for tender, and proactively engaged through to completion

We used The Architects (Sinead & Niall) to renovate and extend our gate lodge in Blackrock, Co Dublin in 2017/18. From the design stage, which we are really delighted with, through to the final stages of construction, the quality of service has been of the highest standard. I would highly recommend this practice, particularly if your project involves complex planning constraints.

The-architects, were hired for an extensive office fit-out, involving a lot of mechanical and electrical work (complete new data points, lighting, air-conditioning, server room...). The project meet deadlines and budget. The-architects designed a modern lively space, highly appreciated by staff (open plan, break room, meeting room...) , and made a lot of good recommendations along the way.

We are absolutely delighted with our renovation. Niall really understood the brief and helped us to reconfigure our space in a way more suited to modern, family life. Highlights include new (additional) windows and an atrium roof light (opening up the house and creating a light-filled space); a large, open-plan kitchen / family room; and a new staircase which has transformed our hall. Among other things, reconfiguration included a larger, family-sized bathroom and an additional ensuite. We also damp-proofed, dug a French drain around the house and insulated internally. We were impressed that Niall managed to capitalise on light and warmth in our old stone house, blending new with old and including a bit of a wow factor, without detracting from the character of the structure. Niall was extremely easy to work with and he also worked very well with our builder. Both managed to adapt the project within the constraints of our budget and, crucially, we also finished on time. We would definitely work with Niall again.
