The Sliding Door Company

Absolutely the worst company to deal with - stay far far away - They will quote you a product, in my case, a sliding barn door apparatus, that is incapable of holding the weight of the glass just to make a sale. Then once the door is installed, it does not work. They refuse to service it. They pass me around for a month asking for pictures and videos without taking any action. Then they take the position that the warranty is only for 90 days. Then they change their position to "warranty is not applicable". So now, i have a sliding barn door, which does not operate well, and I am not even sure how sturdy the install is. I have two young children who use the room for their virtual classrooms (due to Covid), and God forbid, if their installation fails and the glass door falls down and injures them, I can only pray that it does not happen. So for your own peace of mind, please do not use this company for any installations or purchases.

I have a couple of duplex rentals which were sold to me fully remodeled. I contacted The Sliding Door Company's headquarter office in Chatsworth, CA and emailed them about my issue. After a couple of phone calls and exchange of emails with the door lead time, the closet doors were installed! The installer, Jose, did a fantastic job! The doors were amazing!!!! My tenants were extremely pleased with how smooth they glided and the sophisticated look made the room so chic! My experience with Sliding Door Company was extremely easy and they made exactly what we needed for my project. The help facilitate site measure, send quotes and selections in a very comprehensive way and they met their lead time. It was a great experience all around.

I am a professional designer working in the NY/NJ area. For many years, I have dealt with custom fabricators, installers and delivery services. While the product itself is nice, the clear communication and accurate follow-through that are required - as a necessary part of the custom order process - is inefficient & frustrating. My experience with the delivery service Highline Design is not a positive one; They were not accommodating with providing a convenient delivery window and their final fee was not quoted until the day before the delivery took place.

Be aware that Sliding Door Co doesn't disclose all of its hidden fees and costs. We had ordered a door and were compelled to use their installer. However, once the installer arbitrarily increased the price of the install, Sliding Door Co took no responsibility and said it was our problem. On top of that, the sales rep lied to us and said that apparently he had given us a heads up about the fee. When we tried to use our own installer, they said that we have to pay an additional delivery fee if we didn't use their contracted installer. They also tried to charge us a credit card processing fee when we wanted to cancel our order. It's all great when you first place the order but once there is an issue they don't hesitate to misrepresent facts. We ended up doing a custom sliding door from a local provider in Manhattan.

We have been preferred installers for The Sliding Door Co NY since 2003. The company is extremely professional, the sales people are very knowledgeable & they provide terrific customer service! We would recommend The Sliding Door Co to anyone interested in beautiful & affordable sliding door solutions.

We converted a humdrum bathroom into a fabulously swanky Hollywood bath using the Sliding Door Company's product to separate the wet room from each lavatory side. We were so pleased with the results we went back when remodeling the master bathroom, adding a black glass, floor-to-ceiling, sliding door for our closet entrance. Beautiful!
