1 STAR IS GENEROUS “NEVER USE THIS CONTRACTOR” You can expect: 1.To pay for 80% of the project before any work begins 2.Guaranteed change orders for more money with no explanation and refusal to begin work refund your deposit if not paid 3.8 Months to start work 4.Numerous no shows of scheduled appointment with zero regard for your time 5.You will need to be multilingual to communicate with their subcontracted work force. Supervision will never be present or available for discussion. 6.You will have to navigate the permitting and inspection process due to their incompetence 7.Contract exclusions for things as basic as installation of power 8.Complete disregard for warranty issues As an individual who understands the necessity for professional work when dealing with home renovations, Happy House Living might be the worst contractor in Florida. It became evident quickly that the initial promise of a dedicated and experienced team was far from the reality. I experienced numerous inconveniences due to mismanaged scheduling, unnecessary delays, no shows, and rework due to substandard executions and total lack of professionalism. Happy House Living was contracted to design and install a motorize pergola at our home. The commencement of the project was delayed without any proper communication or valid explanation. In all, the once six-month timeline ballooned into months of inconvenience and disarray – impacting the practicality of our living situation. When it comes to warranty, I remain skeptical of their follow through given the evident lack of commitment and understanding they’ve shown throughout the project. Our pergola has been in operatable for nearly two months waiting for them to even come out and assess the problem. I’m guessing it has to do with their use of electrical tape for all exterior wiring connections. To add to my frustrations, I've also had to deal with inconsistencies regarding expenses. Materials that were in the initial quote suddenly became 'add-ons', causing the overall budget to balloon beyond what we'd agreed upon. Despite numerous discussions and interactions, transparency and honesty were an aftermath in every financial dealing. I'm writing this review in hope it assists others in making informed choices when it comes to choosing their services. To say that my experience with Happy House Living was and still is stressful would be an understatement. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!
