Unfortunately, I am not one of the lucky clients who received outstanding work and left a raving review. Where to begin… the first day started off well. After that it just went downhill. Some days he showed up, some days he didn’t, and some days he did - but much later than expected. It was difficult to know if he was coming or not. So, when he had not not shown up by noon on a Saturday, I left for work, leaving my dog safely locked inside my house. I came home to see my door wide open and Billy working inside. I was immediately concerned about my skittish dog having run off, since the door was wide open. I also wondered how Billy had gotten inside, since the door was locked when I left. My dog fortunately, was inside- inhaling all the dust we wear a mask to protect us from when around this type of work. My shock and awe increased when I learned Billy had broken in through a window to “finish the job” - which by the way, is still not done I continue to lick up cigarette butts that he left littered on the ground outside. I even found a few inside. From the photo you can see it may have been another ten minutes to finish the shower but he left it undone?!?! Who knows why. It is beyond wondering now I guess. However - here’s the real kicker- even if he had finished the job and I could use the shower - he Installed the new shower dial improperly, so the hottest shower I could take is lukewarm at best. It’s infuriating. The tile work and shower construction are definitely impressive. Craftsmanship is not the only factor to consider when rating a company or making a referral, and sadly, the unfinished work is all that really stands out. It was impossible to establish the necessary trust and assurance in Billy as a contractor due to the lack of professionalism and inconsiderate behaviors. Based on my experience, I definitely would not recommend this company to anyone.

Our house is 31 years old and hadn’t had any updates since it was built. We have been renovating bathrooms and floors for the past couple of years and have relied on Owen Tile and Marble to get the job done. They always show up on time and tidy up at the end of the day. I’ve also relied on Bill, the owner, to help me with the design to achieve my vision. He and his crew do amazing work and are always helpful beyond the scope of tile setting. They do the whole job from setting the tub, new fixtures, the plumbing, and replacing wallboard and waterproofing. They’ve also replaced 4 carpeted rooms and installed wood flooring. And my favorite renovation so far is my entry staircase. It was carpeted before and very sad. I wanted wood treads and deco tiled risers. Bill has so many expert connections and he knew the expert I needed to do the treads, as it is a curved staircase, and so we used the expert he recommended. After the new treads were installed he and his crew installed the deco tile on the risers. He and his team also installed the new foyer travertine floor in a Versailles pattern and a medallion that I purchased to finish my dream staircase and foyer. He really works with you to get your vision accomplished. They have done so many projects for us so far, replacing cracked Saltillo tile in our front courtyard, to my recent new kitchen, laundry room and family room travertine floors, 2 fireplace makeovers, 3 bathrooms, (2 more to go!)....And still so much more to do! It’s a big house. Santa Barbara is known for its high prices, but Owen Tile has always been fair, competitive and timely. My husband and I are so very pleased with all the work they’ve done for us so far.

Bill and his team did the tile work for our bathroom remodel recently. They worked with various tile types and did a fantastic job! They are detail-oriented, professional and clean and dedicated to providing the best result possible. I highly recommend them!

Excellent tile professional to work with! He and his crew showed up on time, did excellent work, cleaned up, provided creative suggestions, was cost conscious with regard to materials and fair with his pricing. Result came out beautifully. An overall awesome experience! Highly recommend.

Billy Owen did a complete master bathroom remodel for us. We completely gutted it down to the studs and moved all the plumbing and electrical around. It began as a major bathroom leak and I put it off for 6 months due to not being able to find a contractor who shared my vision or could come anywhere close to my budget. Then Billy's name came up and several people I trust highly recommended him. I got lucky to find Owen Tile & Marble. They far exceeded my expectations, stayed on budget, worked quickly and were so pleasant to have around. As it goes with any major project we hit snafu's and problems came up; Billy was able to adjust plans, think quickly on the spot, his years of experience in the field were obvious. He also worked well and coordinated with the other trades that came in. I SO highly recommend Billy Owen and 100% will use him on future projects. I dreaded this project and because of Owen Tile and Marble it turned out to be an amazing experience and I now have the most incredible, luxurious dream bathroom. I'll post pictures soon!

Bill Owen did an amazing job for us-our new tile floors are beautiful. We chose Bill for our tile project because he demonstrated his extensive knowledge around the preparation part of the project. He spent at least an hour with us at the pre-bid stage. Bill and his crew were highly professional throughout the entire project; it was clear that they all take great pride in their work. As busy as he is, Bill fit us in quickly, and he came back and re-grouted an area that had a coffee spill at no extra charge. In addition, Bill tiled our hall closet and it was not even on our radar. Beautiful job, through and through.

Bill Owen and his company Owen Tile and Marble have done several jobs for my family in the past years..I have found his work, and that of his crew, to be exceptional...My 1950's kitchen was in need of an upgrade and Bill installed beautiful Granite counters, which were difficult, due to the age of the house.. Also, new tile floors in the kitchen and bathrooms...This as all done in a timely fashion and a very professional job... My In-Laws also had their kitchen upgraded with new Granite counters. They also did a total remodel on an outdated master bathroom....I would recommend his company for all your tile needs and, more importantly, his working relationship with other contractors..
