About Us

Period Mouldings was formed 6 years ago spinning out from Period Joinery Limited which is a business that supplies period specialist bespoke joinery across Yorkshire. The impetus for the business came from the on-going demand from customers for different and unique wood mouldings for their homes. The original designs, which are still sold today, came from period houses throughout Yorkshire which were re-engineered for national markets. The vision of the business is to utilise technology to sell online to the B2B sector as a price efficient alternative for bespoke manufacturing of period skirting boards, architraves, fire doors and architectural mouldings for original and new period buildings. The business has grown organically over the last 6 years and has created both a strong reputation in the market and sense of quality in its repeat customers.

Despite acknowledging sending the wrong items, the cost was placed upon me. I ordered skirting for a property renovation. When my carpenter was installing, they realised the lengths were miss matched. I contacted the company and agreed that if I could make do with the lengths I had (one always orders a little extra) then they would issue a refund. When it came to requesting the refund, it was refused. Indeed, if any refund were to be considered I'd have to return the items at my own cost. I'm disappointed the resolution to a mistake they made was for me to incur additional costs. On the bright side, the skirting they did provide was as advertised.

Dear Jonathan

I am sorry that you feel this way but I feel its important to give you a full history of what happened.

You ordered 16 Richmond boards on 8/11/2017. We then received a call that 2 of the boards were a different profile which we assumed had been a mix up in packing and dispatch. We offered to replace the boards but you said you would clarify what you wished to do with your joiner,

You then contacted us two days later suggesting that you would not need the boards and we advised that they could we would therefore replace these boards or restock in line with our terms and conditions.

We then heard nothing for three months. until you requested a refund.

As before we advised that these items could be returned in line with our policy. You then said it was impossible to return them as you had fitted them elsewhere in your house.

At this point as we have no goods to return we were unable to offer a refund for the two lengths which was £62.88 in total.

I can only apologise that this policy seems not to have met your needs but I am glad that the product supplied and used elsewhere met as advertised.
