I primarily worked with Susan at Progressive Designs, to select a fabric for reupholstering my mother's 1950s era couch, along with selecting fabrics for accent pillows. In addition, I had 2 bar stools (1960s era) to recover. Susan was very helpful pulling fabric samples in the color I wanted for the couch, fabric colors for the bar stools that would be complimentary with the couch, and she kept the durability of the fabrics in mind, so that the fabrics I selected would not only be pleasing to look at, but would also hold up to use. Everything was beautiful and I am very happy with the results. I was so happy with Progressive Design, I recommended them to a friend of mine who was looking for plantation shutters. Kathy came to his house with samples and worked with him to select the best width for the slats and frame, and to determine the best material for the construction of the shutters. While she was there, my friend realized he also needed curtains for some windows. He went to the shop to select fabric. Again, Kathy was very helpful with selecting the fabric for the windows. I will definitely use Kathy and Susan again in the future.

Over the past four years, I have worked with Kathy on several complicated window projects. After a remodeling job, we were in need of new window treatments. Due to the configurations, it was a challenge to come up with what would work. Three pleated shades, drapery panels, and a swag type valance later, we have treatments that no only provide the needed function, but are beautiful to look at. Progressive Designs had the expertise to figure out what would work and also found solutions to old verticals we had. They did a perfect install. Though not inexpensive, we found them to be very reasonable in their pricing. We're firm believers in getting what you pay for. We paid for quality and expertise and that's what we got. They also made a cushion for a toy box and reupholsterd a chair. The work was perfection.

I have had a professional relationship with Progressive Designs. The quality of the work coming out of their workroom is without question, some of the best I have ever come across. Kathy, the owner, is one of the most knowledgeable, conscientious, detail oriented fabricators in the business. Kathy Listens to the client! Understands there are many different tastes. Work is performed in a timely manner. Has an extensive Fabric library. I would advise future clients to purchase fabrics through Kathy. She has a variety of sources and provides expert guidance in not just fabric selection but in drapery rods as well. *This is a very important (selecting the correct hardware for the job) and often overlooked aspect of the design process. It can be very costly if you choose the wrong hardware. When you need the extra mile call Kathy she will deliver.
