PSB was great to work with from the design through build phase. This was our first time building a house. Taking on this task while both working full time jobs and raising 2 small children was challenging, but he PSB team helped us through the many steps of the process. Creating a clear timeline for decisions on selections was very helpful for my wife. We could not be happier with the final product and PSB truly took our ideas and turn it into a reality.

We selected Progress Street Builders because we wanted to build a new home for our retirement, but 200 miles from where we were living. We needed a professional builder with an approach to design, collaboration, and communication that suited our already busy schedule. Our project was to be on an unusual and somewhat difficult property so there was a lot of detail to plan and work out. From initial consultation, to design, to component selections, to the final punch list - we have been informed and pleased. Everyone is pleasant and eager to help. We have moved into our "dream home" and are completely pleased. This was a great experience!

I decided to hire Progress Street Builders because I was looking for one-stop-shopping with a custom home builder who had a reputation for building quality homes. I was immediately impressed by their willingness to be flexible as we constantly modified the floor plan to meet our needs. I was also impressed that they actually included a section of their contract to deal with trust between the owner and the contractor...and they certainly earned my trust as the project progressed. So many people warned us how difficult and time-consuming it would be to build a custom home, and Progress Street proved them wrong. They made it so easy and manageable... and enjoyable to go through the entire process. Long story short, we are thrilled with our new home, and Progress Street came within two weeks of our target move-in date...a great accomplishment given the winter weather delays. Despite all the attention to details, there will always be some punch list items when so many building trades are involved with the creation of a one-of-a kind home. Once again, I was warned not to pay in full until all the areas of concern were addressed. I heard horror stories of builders virtually disappearing after they were paid and their customers left hanging. Not so with Progress Street. They have been excellent on all the follow-up items, and have overwhelmingly pleased this meticulous customer.

Progress Street has been fantastic to work with. I contacted them to build a custom home for my grandparents that would make it worth their effort to move to the area from northern Virginia. All of my interactions with them have been overwhelmingly positive. Don and his crew were very accommodating regarding meeting times and requests made at all points of the project. Amy was very patient, helpful, and knowledgeable to help us through the selections process. It was also wonderful working with Greg onsite as the building progressed. Any concerns we had were minor, but were addressed immeditely and I feel like in a lot of ways we were treated like family. I was extremely pleased with the service and end result we received and would recommend them to anyone looking to make their home in the area.

When we purchased property to build on, we selected Progress Street Builders to help us plan and complete our new home. Selecting Progress Street was based on several things: 1. Their excellent reputation in the community. 2. First-hand experience with the quality of their work from living in one of their spec homes for over 10 years. 3. Impressed that Manager lived in Wyatt Farm subdivision while building there – you can only do that if you do things “right”. We found them to be client centered throughout the 2 year process of planning and building. All their personnel were consistently patient, skilled and professional. They provided expert guidance at all times and were especially helpful in suggesting modifications to allow us to “age in place”. They were creative and persistent and willing to seek unique solutions for our ideas and desires. They were always willing to discuss options from a cost/quality/function perspective. Their good humor and cheerful approach made the process a pleasure from beginning to end. We found all of the sub-contractors and tradespeople to be skilled and experienced. In addition they were communicative and willing to adjust when needed. Progress Street Builders had high expectations from their sub-contractors and were always responsive when any concern arose. Everyone worked hard and carefully and with great skills. In particular, the cabinet work was exceptional, as were the trim carpenter and the painters. We appreciated the socially conscious and local selection of many sub-contractors as well. We learned a tremendous amount and thoroughly enjoyed the entire process. We have great respect for all Progress Street Professionals and are thrilled with the end result. We felt listened to and included from our first meeting until we got the keys! They continue to provide extraordinary service and support during our first year in our home. We cannot recommend them too highly!

"A picture is worth a thousand words" really becomes fact when you are able to find a picture to show what you want done and words just won't get your idea across. Our new home is tailored to our use and very functional for our lifestyle due to the listening skills and ability to translate our wishes into reality that we found with Progress Street Builders. We did a lot of 'built in' furniture and had some specific needs for family gatherings and Progress Street Builders did these areas with wonderful creativity. We are enjoying the positive responses of family and friends who have visited and we look forward to many years of hosting all kinds of gatherings in our new home.

My experience with Progress Street Builders in building a custom home was a real pleasure! The project entailed a prairie style home on a hilltop with immaculate interior and exterior architectural design and high quality construction. The team worked seamlessly together to understand what I wanted in the home, to design the home to meet my preferences, and to implement the project within my budget and time constraints. Each member of the team demonstrated great professionalism and in-depth knowledge, a high level of creativity and attention to detail, along with superb problem solving skills. As just one example, Don (the general manager) obtained numerous samples of different kinds of wood with different kinds of stain to enable us to select the perfect match for the interior wood trim that was superbly designed by David (the designer) which was then carefully installed under the supervision of Greg (the project manager). During the project, I came to rely on the team completely for their expertise and their ability to deliver to a level that not just met but exceeded my expectations.

We hired Progress Street Builders (PSBs) to build us a custom home that would provide for the needs of a severely physically disabled child, expanding family, and a more modern decorating style, all on a strict budget. Our experience with every employee at PSBs is one that embodies the definition of excellent customer service. They skillfully guided us through designing floor plans and architecture with plenty of ideas and problem-solving guidance. They patiently waited on us to work through detailed decisions and took longer with us than a typical client to design and re-design detailed floor plans to suit our special needs and future goals for our home while at the same time helping stay in budget. We are pretty particular when it comes to interior selections, designs, and finishes. But PSBs made the selections process for every detail of the interior a fun process and we are so thrilled with the gorgeous results! We could have never thought through so many special details for a child in a wheel chair without their help and expertise. The PSBs team came up with so many unique and amazing ideas! We really love the results. No matter what challenges arose during the building process the PSBs team bent over backwards to make every detail turn out just the way we wanted it to.
