About Us

Quinn Craughwell Landscape Architects (QCLA) was formed to provide the highest standard of landscape architectural services in the region. We strive to exceed our clients’ expectations while creating landscapes that combine science, cultural values and universal laws of beauty. We strive to adapt the personal experiences of each client into a designed landscape that is a source of renewal and respite while ensuring that each project contributes in part to a more sustainable and ecological community. We value the opportunity to work within a design team of related professionals, ensuring that each project has the most informed results possible. We carefully consider local context and history to root each landscape within its place. We plan for long term maintenance through the use of careful material selections and thoughtful construction techniques. We bring together a varied palette of theories and techniques to create gardens that are expressions of the architecture, client and region.

Quinn is a delight to work with. She has helped us with several projects, and each time she has done an amazing job. She knows exactly what will grow and thrive in each place, and has a knack for choosing things that are low maintenance. I have something beautiful blooming in my yard all spring and summer, and I am constantly getting compliments. I would recommend Quinn very highly.

Quinn Craughwell listens carefully and makes decisions thoughtfully. She is a master at laying out the structure of the garden so that the plantings grow into it gracefully. She selects the plants with an artist's eye for color, texture, and weight. We made major improvements to the exterior of our house and to the yard about 6 years ago and Quinn coordinated well with the architect, contractor, and stonemasons. She was able to re-use most of the existing plants, which helped with the budget. We have been so pleased with her work that we are now embarking on another big project.

I would highly recommend Quinn Craughwell Landscape Architects for all of your landscape projects! We have worked with Quinn on several projects around our home. Not only is she extremely talented, knowledgable and timely, but she is a delight to work with. We presented Quinn with a few challenges including re-designing the foundation planting in the front of our home, a big drainage issue in our side yard and a living space around our existing pool and patio. Quinn listened to our wants, needs and budget and delivered outstanding landscape architectural plans that resulted in a beautiful yard transformation from front to back.
