About Us

Jon Martinez is the principle of Beautiful and Gracious Designs with over 35 years in interior design working in NYC working for some of the best in the industry. He is an a standing member of A.S.I.D. I believe a well-appointed and designed home creates harmony and fulfillment and increasing your home value. Specializing in New Traditional / Contemporary and Modern styles I excel in remodels of homes and home decorating. I work with architects, contractors and builders to transform our clients' homes to their oasis. My professional guidance ranges from design to selection of materials needed for the construction of the job whether it’s a room or whole house. I will manage your project to completion, the results are a summary of the client's taste, memories, presented in a classic and harmonist way. Single room design and décor are the basics of our job. We will select furnishings, color schemes including fabrics, lighting and finishes based on your room requirements and budget. We worked with B&G on two properties. Jon had great vision and was able to integrate our existing furnishings with the new for an updated look. Jon has great taste and challenged us to get out of our comfort zone, the result was amazing! We highly recommend B&G to anyone looking to update their spaces.

We worked with B&G to do some renovations and decoration at our new home. Jon was very easy to work with and really pulled us out of our comfort zone to bring our vision to life. He helped manage everything from design choices and purchasing, to finding contractors that could work within our timeline and budget. It's not an exaggeration to say he has a keen eye for beauty and grace in his work. We're grateful that we found B&G and how beautiful Jon made our home. Highly recommended!

B&G Design is absolutely wonderful to work with! Our project was to take an unfinished basement in our new build home, and create a full apartment to function as an in law space. B&G assisted us in creating the floor plans and design to ensure our list of needs and wants were met in the budget we set. The beautiful apartment space is always the topic of conversation whenever visitors come over. Beautiful and Gracious Design is definitely the way to go in your next project!

Jon was recommended to us by friends in town, and we were already familiar with his brick + mortar store in Asbury Park. Going in, we already had an idea of his exceptional, great taste, so he was an ideal choice for a smaller-sized project for our condominium. We needed a design professional for 9 ft. floor-to-ceiling black-out curtains in our bedroom. Jon was both professional and patient, and was more than happy to supply multiple ways to handle this project. He gave us several choices for materials, as well as different options for the curtain hardware. All within our budget and time-frame to get it done in a short amount of time. We have since recommended him to other friends for all types of interior design projects, big and small. Would not hesitate to work with him again. He's honest and committed to giving his all — no matter the size or scope of the task.

Jon's true talents are listening and understanding his client's needs when creating the design layout for my new in-law suite. The layout was on point and easy for me and my contractors to follow and modify based on walk through. Jon was exceptional helping me plan my dream kitchen, furniture design and layout and creating a wants and needs package for the contractor to follow. I will be reaching out to Jon and B&G Design again.

Jon’s design plans for our home were transformative and the finished project was amazing. He helped us fall in love with our house by reimagining our living, family, and dining rooms. In particular, he took a underutilized sunroom that we used as a playroom and created a gorgeous relaxing living space. He has a sophisticated eye for design, but is practical in his approach, so each space is inviting and comfortable. Jon is a pleasure to work with!

Jon is a talented designer whose vision for an open plan and a expanded kitchen was incredible. By using his 3d Computer illustrations we were able to preview the layout and designs before construction began. He listened to our needs and revised the 1st floor layout to reflect our modern living. He also gave us a master bedroom suite with bath and walk-in closet. He assisted in selecting exterior and interior finishes and designed layouts for our bathrooms and kitchen. He communicated well with us and our contractor over the 8 months of this gut job renovation. Jon is creative, responsive and flexible. We highly recommend him.

Jon was excellent to work with. He listened to my wants and delivered. He chose the most beautiful rug to bring all the furnishing together. I have a very ornate gold mirror and he suggested it go over the fireplace mantel. It became the focal point of the living room next to the rug.

Jon was great to work with! He helped design my kitchen, butlers pantry, baths and advise on paint coloring and lighting. He has a great eye for design, was responsive, well organized and provided valued guidance from start to finish. Picture below is my smallest yet favorite space in the house! Jon helped make this space perfect .....color choice / finish was spot on!

Jon invited me to help him bring one of his visions to life. Although bunk beds can look a little 'barrack-y,' Jon designed a clean and elegant piece of built in furniture. He is a pleasure to work with and I look forward to recommending him to future clients I may have that require the services of an interior designer.
