Remodeling Star - Design Build

We remodeled parts of the kitchen, remodeled the laundry room, removed the wall between the kitchen and living room and completely remodeled the main bathroom. All the work was very professional. The designer recommended that we put electric heat under the bathroom tile, which works great! Everyone to visits the house is jealous of the bathroom, particularly the heated floor. If we need any other work done on the house we will certainly call Remodeling Star first.

We've done several projects since we hired Brad to remodel our small 5x8 bathroom in 2020 and had much better experiences. This job started in January of 2020 and should have been done prior to COVID at the end of March 2020 but Brad blamed COVID for how long the project took. Working with Brad was contentious and he lost out on $150K worth of future work. The project took over 5 months for us to be able to use our bathroom and then the company took a three month hiatis (this job shouldn't have taken more than 8 weeks, at most). After their three month hiatis on the job, Brad contacted us and threatened to put a lien on our home. When a company doesn't perform work at a home for over 90 days they are no longer able to file a lien and is a crime to do so. After that we didn't trust him to come back. The project itself was very poorly managed and Brad never knew what was going on with the project. He bought items for our project and tried to force us to pay for something we didn't want and tried to bully us over many aspects. The person who performed the tile work was horrible, he cut tiles on my windowsil and left the red tile dust that melded to my siding. The builder that works for Brad said he didn't want to work with the tiler again. Some of the tile was redone but some wasn't. The cut edges weren't straight and looked like an animal chewed on them. Brad was also supposed to remodel our closet and although I told him exactly what I wanted, he tried to push something else. At the beginning of our bathroom remodel he asked us to empty our closet, which we did. He left it empty with no work being done on it for two months and I had to pull it off the project. That simple project could have been done in a week and we could have had the use of it. In the end Brad didn't care about how the poor project management negatively affected us, had poor workmanship, and was hard to work with so I would never hire Brad's company again. I could have uploaded 20+ photos of bad workmanship but Houzz doesn't allow that much.

Is there a less than 1 Star? Our experience with Remodeling Star has ended very badly. Brad Huard with Remodeling Star did some work in our basement starting August of 2018, and that project finished in April of 2019. The second project/phase to work we wanted to have done still is not finished. Phase two was to be a screened in porch added onto a already existing deck, change deck railing system, put lattice beneath the deck, and a dock for our pond. Mr. Huard took the deposit of $40,000.00 On June 28th assuring us work would begin in 2 weeks and that the job would take 3 weeks to finish. Well, after $20,000.00 more dollars given to Mr. Huard our project is not finished 4 months later. The materials from the Lumber yard were never paid for (even though we gave Mr. Huard $40,000.00 as a deposit to purchase said Materials). We know the materials were not paid for because Mr. Huard did not pay the Sub Contractor he hired and that sub Contractor did not/could not pay the lumber bill and we now have a lien on our home. Material was also ordered from a quarry that Mr. Huard has not paid because that company also came to us looking to be paid. We asked for paid invoices, to see if this mess was a mistake and Mr. Huard is not returning messages. We will never use this Contractor ever again!!!

I'm sorry to say, I would not recommend Remodeling Star. Brad was very nice but...... We did not have a good experience. It took 3 months to do a 5 x 8 bathroom remodel. Everything had to be done twice! Nothing was done right the first time. The project was quoted one price and the price was almost double when done and we supplied the pocket door, the shower glass, the vanity, the mirror, the toilet and bidet seat. The contractor also wanted us to get estimate from a store for plumbing fixtures and then used a different company to order from. If you decide to work with this company I would advise you get a labor estimate and material estimate before you sign up. Get it all in writing before hand.

Brad and Laura and there crew were great, are bathroom . basement , and kitchen are wonderful.J-J & Garrett were very kind and did a great job painting , Ed did a great job with my cabinets &Mike did plumbing and was GREAT! Sometimes they were late ,but that is to be expected. It took about 4 months to due everything.

Our experience with Remodeling Star was a very very good one. We would recommend them to anyone who wants a beautiful kitchen like ours. The workmanship is awesome. They also did our bathroom with a beautiful walk in shower. We were very pleased with everything they did and then some. We added additional work v ecause of their quality and attention to detail as well ad our wellbeing. We decided ti havw a chair luft installed from the furst floor ti basement. There are so many choices and we didn't have the time to meet with them all. We were a bit hesitant until we came across Remodeling Star and reassured us that they would and could exceed our expectations so, we scheduled an appointment to come out and go over some of our ideas. Couldn't believe the possibilities available and certainly didn't expect to make a decision that evening. My husband has severe back and knee issues. It wasn't easy to get around and not convenient getting in and out of the tub or even getting into our cabinets. The bathroom we had doubts about is now a full functioning, attractive space that will accommodate all of our families needs. They did everything they said they would. We're telling everyone we know about Remodeling Star.

Remodeling Star was a great choice! Workers are clean and very friendly. Affordable work that really looks great. Highly recommend.

I am so happy with how my kitchen remodel turned out! I thought I had good design taste, but Brad helped me take it to the next level, opening my eyes to ideas I would have never come up with on my own. His input was essential, and he stayed in contact with me through the entire process. Brad was a pleasure to work with, and I would absolutely hire him again and recommend him to anyone who asks!
