Ash, the owner, walked my husband and I through designing a farm style dining room table with a bench and matching counter stools. From selecting the wood along with the finish, to perfecting the design of the legs, we were able to be a part of the whole process. Along with providing custom furniture, Rustic Home has an extensive collection of unique pieces of furniture from around the world, it's fun to walk the showroom floor and look at all the treasures. Rustic Home is an absolute hidden gem!! My first experience with Rustic Home was completely random but unforgettable! My mom and I were driving around San Marcos just window shopping for furniture and I happened to see the Rustic Home sign and told her that we should stop in. As we walked in the first thing that came to mind was WOW! Not only was the venue huge but there were beautiful and unique pieces everywhere! I did not know where to look first! I remember joking with my mom saying "I want it all!" As we walked further Ash approached us but not in that annoying I want you to buy my furniture kind of way but in a way that made you feel at peace and want to explore more. My mom and I only had planned to stay a few minutes but we ended up walking around for close to an hour. I kept finding new pieces of furniture that had so much detail and looked like nothing I had ever seen! The crafts work and detail was unbelievable!! At the end of our walk through this amazing place I felt the urge to approach Ash and talk to him! He was seriously such a genuine and nice guy and he made us feel so welcome! After our discussion I left the store but I could not get all its beauty out of my head! I immediately added their Facebook page after I left and the weeks following I could not help but like and comment on all their pictures! I was in love with everything! I recently messaged Ash telling him that I am looking for a headboard for my master bedroom, I told him that because I was a college student I could not afford much but I wanted to notify him first because like I have said a thousand times I love all Rustic Home's selection! His response to my message was unlike anything I expected he told me that he would work with me and we would find something that I would love and that I could afford! I am truly so excited! This place will be a store that I shop at for years to come!!! Rustic Home is one of a kind and will give you an unforgettable experience!!! I want to share my story and tell you how Ash and the magic makers at Rustic Home made a dream come to life! My home was on the market and in tip top shape to sell. It is an older home that had been renovated over the years to update and expand. Two hours after going on the market we received a full price, cash offer but when the buyers saw the kitchen they felt it was too small for their gourmet cooking lifestyle. So sad! We realized that we needed to do something to stage the kitchen and utilize the space in the adjacent nook area to expand the perceived kitchen area. I knew that today's modern gourmet kitchen includes an "island" and a place for friends & family to congregate over a glass of wine and delicious food. I imagined how I might be able to add an island that would incorporate these elements to my kitchen by combining the food prep island with a bistro height table. I searched the internet and found some lovely designs and drove around to the commercial furniture store to no avail. Refusing to give up on the fantasy piece of furniture that would transform my kitchen, I found myself at RUSTIC HOME in San Marcos. As I stood by a lovely table made from some magical wood, Ash approached me with such a light that I felt compelled to tell him my story. As I spoke, I could see in his eyes that the creative process had already begun. Within a day, Ash had sketched a rough draft of my fantasy island complete with diamond slots for wine bottles; built-in wooden wine glass holders; two wooden shelves for storage of cutting boards & knives and two large cabinets with plenty more storage. The pub table side features room for at least 4 chairs. You really have to see it to believe it! The design process was fun & exciting! Ash listened to my idea, transformed it & enhanced it into a workable design and then with grace & determination, made it happen in time to get my home back on the market! I can’t even imagine my kitchen without this stunning Chop & Chat Gourmet Island. My only challenge now will be to decide who will gain custody of it when I sell the property!
