Sawdust Construction

Our family room and adjacent bathroom had extensive damage caused from a pinhole water leak in July 2015 and we were also working with our homeowner’s insurance company. After the mold, asbestos, walls, ceiling and flooring were removed by companies hired by our insurance company; we were in the process of finding a contractor to fix our home. We met with a contractor recommended by our insurance company, but that did not work out. Then we found and met Brandon with Sawdust Construction in October 2015 based on several of our neighbors’ recommendations since he had completed many jobs in our track of homes over the past 6 years. Brandon was also working on several homes that he was in the process of remodeling or updating in our track and he showed us different phases of those projects. From our first contact and interaction with Brandon, he was exceptional, confident, self-assured, could answer our construction concerns/questions and offered helpful recommendations and suggestions. He also reviewed and explained the scope of work and his proposed contract detailing the timeline and work to be completed by Sawdust Construction. We decided to go with Brandon for the repairs of our water damage as well as the additional remodeling and upgrades we wanted for a more energy efficient and comfortable home. Work started on 12/2/2015 and was completed by January 21, 2016. The Sawdust Construction crew was at our house promptly every morning and they worked diligently to accomplish and complete their aggressive timeline and work schedule. Brandon and Sawdust Construction were able to accomplish and complete a lot of work in a very reasonable amount of time and we are pleased with the overall project and final results. We’re looking forward to working with Brandon and his crew again on our next remodeling/upgrading job for our home.

We moved in to our new home in 2012 and immediately created a list of projects; the kitchen being the first of the major ones. Brandon came to us as a reference by one of our neighbors who have used him for several projects of their own. I knew we picked the right guy when he saved ~$8,000 on my appliance package before we even started. I’m happy to say that we’ve found our guy for all of our future remodeling needs. He and his team are not only kind and courteous but work with a heightened level of professionalism that I think is rare. They were always careful to maintain the dust and noise barriers setup throughout the house and phased the work to limit the disruptions. Even with the care they took to make sure it was done meticulously, the kitchen remodel was done on time and on budget. Our door is always open to Brandon and his team to use our kitchen as a showroom. We look forward to having him start our bathroom remodel next.

I have lived in Palos Verdes over 30 years and worked with a lot of different contract professionals, but I have never been more satisfied than with sawdust construction. Brandon and his crew were extremely professional. They installed a top quality elevator in my house and I was amazed how incredibly clean they were. I never noticed one bit of dust outside of their work space. We are extremely satisfied and I am so happy to recommend them to my friends and family whenever I get a chance.

We have had positive experiences with Sawdust Construction. The main points are: 1. The crew exhibited good craftsmanship and responsibility to get the job done right. They also accommodated us as best as possible during construction, e.g., shielded us from the construction area dust using plywood and vinyl walls and cleaned the work area at the end of each day. 2. Although the general contractor, Mr. Yung, was not physically at the job site most times, he was in constant contact with his crew and stayed on top of each facet of our remodel, and kept us informed. 3. We benefited from Mr. Yung's recommendations of local suppliers, e.g., appliance and bathroom fixture stores, stone yards and fabricator. 4. Mr. Yung is not a "designer" and will tell you so, however he shared ideas from previous jobs and experiences that worked out well, and arranged appropriate on-site visits to completed jobs.

I hired Brandon (Sawdust Construction) in 2012 to do a master bathroom remodel after two friends recommended him. He and his crew were amazingly professional, prompt and clean. Plus, he stayed within his estimate, did not get upset when I had last minute changes and even added some design advice (“You can vault the ceiling to give the room a bigger feel”). One of Brandon’s greatest attributes is his attention to detail. He noticed one of the cabinets had a nick on the top corner. He had the whole thing replaced even though I didn’t notice it at all. In 2013, I hired Brandon to extend my two decks and put in a hot tub. In our city, the City Manager has to approve every small change you do to your house. Brandon was very patient in working with the city, submitting plans, pulling appropriate permits, etc. When we finally got our plans approved, our deck was built and hot tub installed with no issues whatsoever. Brandon’s work ethic, as well as his team’s, is superb and I will not hesitate to hire him again.
