Shaddock Homes

We have a great experience with Shaddock Homes at Village at Twin Creek in Allen. Sale representative Maria take care of us from beginning to the end. Warranty manager Matthew is promptly response and help us with warranty questions and items. Great team!

We are first time house buyers. Back in last quarter of 2020, we were very excited to build our first home. After some house hunt, we decided to go with Shaddock as we liked their beautiful Plans and Elevations. My husband signed contract with Shaddock homes in Last quarter of 2020 and sales Manager anticipated a closing in next 8 months. 18 Months later, Shaddock construction Managers still cannot provide any closing dates for next 4 months. We are currently locked in a situation where we cannot terminate this current contract and move-on, because of huge rise in house prices. And we cannot wait any longer, as interest rates were doubling every month. Shaddock Homes failed terribly in procuring both Labor and Materials needed both during pandemic and post-pandemic. We along with multiple other future owners waited on Windows for 6+ months while other builders around the area(like Trophy , Toll Brothers , MiHomes to name a few) delivered their houses within 6-8months in 2021(perhaps faster in 2022). Shaddock couldn't procure any white brick while others somehow had it. Shaddock homes kept quoting material / Labor shortages but somehow that only applies to Shaddock and nobody else. Construction managers never responds to their customer queries even on multiple follow-ups. This tells how well the Corporate / Management is managing the company and how much they care about their customer needs and to be competitive with other builders. Since we signed our contract, we had been living in an apartment and extended our lease 4 times so far, due to lack of Shaddock's clarity on when our house would close. We feel like Shaddock homes robbed us of having a proper house where our kid would have loved to roam around. Unlike the current situation, where buying a new home is competitive and expensive, back in 2020, we had several other choices. We should have gone with other builders and we could be already be living in our dream house for almost a year now, with a much lower 2.5% APR on our mortgage. Now with increasing inflation and interest rates, god only know how much Interest rate we will end up paying for rest of many years, just because of Shaddock Homes inability to deliver results and lack of Customer Obsession. Although we know that we will eventually get a beautiful house, we feel like it was a big mistake going with Shaddock and we would never recommend Shaddock to anyone in future.

Customer service is ridiculous purchased home in January and its now December and we’re being held up by missing two windows no one from upper management has attempted to contact us to remedy the situation or offer any solutions. I would not recommend this company to build your home due to my experience

This is the 4th build for our family with experience in both full custom and national builders. Shaddock represents the poorest customer service and follow up in our home building catalogue. It’s been very difficult to get warranty work scheduled and completed. Be sure to read your contract, there is no ‘good faith’ accountability taken by this company.

My family is in our second Shaddock built home now. As our family grew, we knew there was only one home builder in North Dallas that could capture what we wanted in a larger house to fit our growing family. The Shaddocks and their employees understand construction and the importance of providing a family all the options that make a house personal. We love our house and there is no doubt if we ever build another, the Shaddock family will be building it.
