About Us

Here at Hughes Building Services, we pride ourselves in offering a complete building service and specialise in designing and building of bespoke; Extensions, Garden Rooms, Barn Conversions, Loft Conversions and Modern Refurbishments tailored around the Customers requirements. We will take your project from concept to completion. We also undertake tendering contracts for local Architects and Chartered Building Surveyors for their Customers. Our Goal is to provide a professional service, and to form a good working relationship with our new and existing Customers with Respect, Integrity to themselves and to their homes, while we are carrying out their project. Projects may vary in size and detail, however you can always expect full commitment from our team and the very highest of standards, since recommendation is a paramount to our success.

What do people want from a builder? An ability to understand what a client wants, but with the confidence to advise and guide when appropriate. A clear pricing policy with easily understandable progress reports. Enthusiasm, trustworthiness, a commitment to finishing the job in detail and technical skill.. Steve and his team provide all of these and more. We are delighted with the end result, it's a fantastic addition to our home and I doubt if we could have found anyone better. Just as Steve came to us from a friend's recommendation, we'd happily pass Steve on to any friend or relative with confidence. We've only dropped one star because a couple of small issues could have been avoided with better communications, but to be fair these issues were perhaps as much my responsibility as the client, as they were Steve's.

Steve has carried out extensive building works for us, both in renovating and extending our old stone cottage, and then redeveloping an old shed into a holiday cottage. He is highly professional, innovative, very methodical and tidy. We would not hesitate in recommending him

Steve is a trusted builder who has completed a number of major projects for us within our home, including a large kitchen, family bathroom further jack and jill bathroom for us over the last 3 years. His workforce are a credit to him and their attention to detail and quality of craft are valued by us. We would not hesitate to recommend Steve and his team, and indeed have done so to friends.

Steve quoted for our house extension project. It was clear from the outset that we could establish an honest and trusting relationship. Having spoken to other local clients we were confident that he would do a good job. This was entirely borne out by experience over the whole length of the contract. All his employees and sub-contractors were a delight to work with. Steve's skill as a manager reduced our stress levels to virtually zero. We did not need to employ our own project manager. There were no unexplained delays. We were impressed by the way he could move staff between different jobs in the locality to maximise their activity. We have already recommended Steve by word of mouth to friends who are looking for a capable and reliable builder. We are delighted with the outcome of our project.
