Our new house, finished in May of this year, was an "age in place" project. Skip embraced the concept and advised us every step of the way. He and the supervisor, Jerry Davis, are a team extraordinaire. Whenever we had a concern or a question, they were both available immediately by cell phone. They never hesitated to give timely direction to any of the subcontractors if something wasn't quite right. The office manager, Kryssi, expedited the process, always with a smile. We talked frequently to make sure that we were all on the same page. If we were dissatisfied with anything, the team found a solution. A few custom items needed to be tweaked and they were modified until we were satisfied. We have had three other houses built "from scratch" and have never has such a positive experience. We not only achieved our dream home, but know that Skip will have our backs in the months to come. You hear that building a new home is a stressful experience; with Sheffield Construction it was a pleasure. In short, Sheffield Construction is not happy until the homeowner is happy. We would recommend them 100%, without reservation.

Sheffield Construction Co. built the very first house we bought when we married over 30 years ago. Their workmanship and willingness to provide service for small details over a year later convinced us that we wanted to use them to build our next house. Sheffield Construction has built two houses for us since then, and done a number of other projects for us as well. There are very few builders with the experience and knowledge Sheffield has, and I doubt if anyone keeps better records. Because of their extensive experience in building custom homes, we could not only be assured of exceptional quality, but the ideas they brought to the table made our finished product much more beautiful than it would have been otherwise. They are also very conscious of budget and providing choices to best meet both our budget and design needs. Every project they did for us was finished in a timely and professional manner. Not only have we loved our homes, but we have become good friends with the people at Sheffield Construction in the process. I understand it's a rare thing to walk away from a building project and remain friendly with the builder, but I think everyone who has had Skip Sheffield build a home for them would call him a friend when finished.

We chose Skip Sheffield to build our new home on Lake Talquin, about 20 mi west of Tallahassee. I don't believe any contractor could have done better and few could do as well. Skip was honest and open from the beginning to the end of our project. I drew the plans for the house, with lots of help and advice from Skip. He has an excellent eye for detail and proportion. Skip watched over our expenses as if they were his own. His subs performed well and respected him. To my knowledge, every person skip has built a home for has become a friend. We are no exception. I enthusiastically give him my highest recommendation. Our house was completed on schedule and on budget. We are proud of it! Heated and cooled area = 3430 sq ft. Cost approx. $160/ sq ft.
