Will met with my wife and me to discuss ideas on how to "warm" up the front of our brick house. It is a small Chicago lot on the corner, with a very small fenced in front yard (about 22x30'). During the consultation, we talked about putting in some brick pavers to accommodate seating in the front yard, and also some attractive plants to replace the existing sparse plants from the previous owner. We talked about design, what would work, what wouldn't work. We talked about the plant options, which we learned come in EVERY shape and size. Luckily, Will narrowed it down for us and came up with a plan to incorporate hydrangea trees, some hastas, some boxwoods, some ferns, and additional ground cover plants and mulch. The drawings looked great, the price was reasonable, and the workers went to work. They also created a gate in the middle of the fence to make the space more welcoming. All said and done, our front yard looks absolutely stunning now! Neighbors always compliment us on what a difference it has made to the house. We added some benches and a gas fire pit and call the front of our house "Micro Plaza", an ode to places in Italy and Spain where you sit outside in the plaza with a snack and a glass of wine and watch people go by. Will and his team of workers were very polite and professional throughout construction. Everything was handled candidly and honestly, as well as within the estimated time. I hired Spiegelberg Landscape Design to design and install landscaping for a courtyard on the property which I manage.
