For 25 years I lived with a small, non-functional, very out dated (ok, ugly!) kitchen and was desperate for a change. I was pretty much hopeless that I could ever have a beautiful, functional space. Then along came Bethany and Studio 1049. She listened to my concerns and hopes, helped me define my style, and seemed to know exactly what I needed and would love. She worked a miracle. Bethany created a design that was stunning, beautifully utilizing all available space and came up with ideas I never would have thought of, giving me more space than I ever thought I could have. She was with my husband and I every step of the way - helping us choose the perfect materials, from cabinetry, flooring, and countertops to hardware, lighting and even suggesting where to use accessories I already owned. Bethany also acted as project manager, making sure all materials were on site when they needed to be and resolving any problems with vendors. She worked closely with our contractor to make sure all was as it should be and our renovation was completed in a very timely manner and within our budget. Bethany's design gave me so much more space than I ever thought possible. I truly have the kitchen of my dreams - there is nothing about it that I do not love! Bethany went so far as to give very valuable suggestions as to the placement of all my kitchenware so as to make working in the kitchen easy and efficient. Bethany was a dream and fun to work with. She is a complete professional - knowledgeable, talented, and skilled. She made the whole process virtually stress-free! I highly recommend Studio 1049 and Bethany for any home project.

Bethany helped with design and color for a kitchen update that we did in an old Mt. Lebanon home last summer. She was professional and prompt at all of our meetings. She was very mindful of our budget. Her ideas for paint colors and how to coordinate them with what we were trying to do were phenomenal. I enjoyed every minute that she spent with me. I hired Bethany to assist me with decorating/ painting my dining room. We had recently moved into a new home that required some updating. After talking with me, she had a clear vision in mind and suggested some paint colors and design ideas. She took my style into mind and made sure that her suggestions matched the rest of my house. She was professional, prompt and listened to what I liked. Her eclectic style matched perfectly with what I was looking for. Working with Bethany was beyond a pleasure. She is extremely genuine, honest, hard working and extremely talented. During our initial consultation, she immediately understood how important the feeling of my office space was to my type of work. She went out of her way to walk me through the entire process, always listening and integrating any ideas that I presented. An aspect of Bethany's work that I was extremely grateful for was her ability and desire to re-purpose many pieces of furniture that I had around my living space. She was able to see a design that I had never imagined and made the process surprisingly cost efficient! However, Bethany could tell that the purchasing process was going to be stressful for me and personally accompanied me when it came time to shop for the few, yet important pieces my office was lacking. Bethany was as excited as I was to finally put the room together and was meticulous when arranging each and every detail. She took great care to ensure that I liked the way the room came together, piece by piece and I loved watching as my dull office became lively and vibrant. Today, my home office is a space in which I actually WANT to work. Bethany focused on my need for storage, acceptability and simplicity to use as the basic platform of her design. Yet, at the end of the process, the room actually FELT different. It is inviting, warm and inspiring. I cannot say enough positive things about my experience working with Bethany. Her ability to conceptualize the possibilities for a space is amazing and I feel very proud to have had her as my designer. I am a licensed professional counselor working in the Pittsburgh area. In the spring of 2014, my colleagues and I moved into a new office space that was desperately crying for an update. As a counselor, we wanted our space to be warm, peaceful, unique, and most of all--inviting. I remember looking at the dilapidated 1980's style wallpaper on one of the walls and wanting to run the other direction. It was in that moment that my colleagues and I realized we needed help. FAST. I hired Bethany to help design an outdoor living space on our front porch. Additionally, she worked with me to put some finishing touches on our family room. She is currently in the process of helping me to redesign my dining room and kitchen. Bethany is wonderful to work with. During our initial consultation, she asked insightful questions about our family and life to come up with a design that is both functional and beautiful to look at. She was extremely mindful of our budget and was able to come up with numerous money saving design options. She accompanied me on a shopping trip to pick out furniture and accents for our front porch...we had a blast and stayed under budget! Inside, she was able to re-purpose things we already had in ways that I never would have thought of.
