About Us

Studio loci is a multidisciplinary design and fabrication practice based near Lewes, East Sussex. Our workshop specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of bespoke furniture, contemporary carpentry, architectural joinery, kitchens, bathrooms and fitted interiors. We also offer comprehensive architectural and interior design services to both domestic and commercial clients.

Jason Armstead of Studio Loci took the idea we had for a 'whole wall' set of bookshelves and came up with a design that exactly suited the space. He thought of beautiful details that improved the basic thing we had in mind and gave the finished units a clean and stylish look. The construction was absolutely sound and Jason fitted the shelves himself so the job was exceptionally well-done from start to end.

Jason designed and built an integrated fitted wardrobe for us. His ideas, attention to detailing, communication, value for money and craftsmanship were all completely faultless. We're delighted with the result, which we both think is greatly superior to anything else any other craftsmen spoke of delivering. We're desperately trying to find other projects to engage him in. Would unreservedly recommend him.

When we wanted a floating oak staircase in an awkward space, we could not find anyone to take it on, until our neighbour recommended Loci. They not only completed the stairs on time and within a fair budget, they went above and beyond to make sure that we got exactly what we wanted. We cannot recommend them highly enough.

Jason has worked on three projects for me so far; a beautiful fitted bookcase in my drawing room, contoured to fit the old uneven walls perfectly and a great addition to the room. In the bathroom a walnut counter for the Japanese style washbasin (on Jason's advice) which looks stunning. Most recently a set of wooden double gates at the end of the driveway; this was a task and a half given that the drive slopes and the old Edwardian gateposts are not straight. The result is a great addition to the property and hugely admired by my neighbours. I would not hesitate in recommending Jason and Studioloci for any design and/or build project. The work is precise, on budget and on time, always with a schedule of work provided, and Jason has some wonderful ideas.

Very happy customer. Studio Loci did a fantastic job on all my projects. Whole process from design to delivery was seamless, enjoyable, on time and on budget. The quality of the joinery and finish is perfect (even to my wife's critical eye). The attention to detail is second to none. I'll never know how he managed to get such a perfect fit for the turntable desk on my very wonky Victorian walls. It truly did fit with snug Mercedes Benz like precision. Jason is a fine craftsman, based on the quality of work I subsequently commissioned a pair of wardrobes & refit of our bathroom. I will probably never go anywhere else.

Jason Armstead designed and hand crafted a beautiful cabinet in two harmonising woods to unobtrusively house our audio surround sound units and DVD collection. He visited us first to see the location,discuss the brief, and take measurements. He then provided sketches and final drawings for approval. Over a period of a couple of years, I had Jason at Studio Loci come back and complete several projects on my home, he: - fitted a beautiful oak parquet floor - installed a new staircase and banister - replaced an existing bay extension with a solid oak one, including double doors and a glass roof - installed an ethically sourced South American hardwood deck. I still enjoy all these additions on a daily basis, his work was well designed and completed to the highest standard.
