Cancelled an order the same day it was made and had Houzz Customer Service contact this seller about it. Instead of cancelling it, the seller hurried to ship the order - which was due many days later - in the same day we made and cancelled it. Now the seller wants us to pay the shipment for the return.

I am sorry you had a bad experience but I did not ship knowing that you wanted to cancel your order. I received your order on May 3rd and shipped it on the following day at 2:39pm. When I returned home I saw the email from: support@houzz.com via sv3v07vm20b7.e-i0gmmac.na38.bnc.salesforce.com May 4. (this email and date are copied directly from my email). If you would like a screen shot and a copy of my time stamped post office receipt I can fax it to you.
I would not have shipped it knowing that you did not want it, as I loose money every time a product is returned (i don't charge the full cost of shipping and I have to repack so that I can resell the item).
That said. to anyone reading this review... Please make sure the product will work for your application before ordering as it will save us both time, money and aggravation.

Very easy step by step instructions I am not at all mechanically inclined, and I was a bit apprehensive. But, I was thrilled! Beautiful results!! Thank you tischlager!!

I have not personally purchased furniture or the Modern Niche from Tischlager but I have seen the products in person and have met the designer Susan Drescher. The furniture is robustly constructed with attention to craftsmanship. The Modern Niche is quite nifty and I have seen it installed and finished. Easy, easy, easy and makes use of space you might not have thought of using in your walls. Susan is very creative, laid back, and easy to work with. She would make any design experience fun instead of daunting, as she has in fact, given me great ideas around my own home.

Have three on an open stairway wall and get lots of compliments and think contractors should be putting them in homes or businesses. You can change items for different occasions for a nice affect.

Tischlager's modern niche is a great product! It was super easy to install. The niche adds versatility to my decor and a 3D quality to my displayed work. I like that you can combine 2D and 3D items in the same space and its so easy to change it out when you feel like it. I am planning an adding more in my home, and would highly recommend this product no matter the style of your interior. It adds an element of focus in my kitchen, and a wonderfully useful detail.

Commented: What are the measures of the niches?you can get ready made niches like these at www.modernniche.com. you cut a hole in your wall and insert the niches. You can than finish them with dry wall mud to get the same effect as shown here.

Commented: Could you tell me what finished size are the niches?You can buy prefabricated niches in two sizes via www.modernniche.com. You don't need any special framing and they can be installed after you drywall.
