We help homeowners design and customize their home renovation and new construction projects. We are your advocates and guides during this stressful process via strategic and customizable interior design packages at flat-fee rates. Based in Birmingham, AL, in-person services are provided to Alabama, Georgia, Florida and Tennessee residents. We are delighted to have discovered Orooj and Urbanhaus Designs. Faced with the challenge of transforming the smallest bedroom in our new home into a dual professional home office — complete with 2 workstations, conference area, meditation space, organized filing and bookshelves — we were thoroughly impressed by Orooj's space management solutions. She provided us with multiple well-explained options, excelled in communication, and held productive Zoom meetings to discuss various design layouts. Orooj, the owner, demonstrated exceptional attention to detail, from considering the impact of daylight on paint colors to sending us samples to test in our space before finalizing our choices. Despite not purchasing custom furniture, every piece fit our space perfectly, down to the last inch. Her ability to harmonize our differing styles — modern minimalism and cozy traditionalism — resulted in a space that perfectly reflected our tastes, all within our budget. Orooj's talent as a designer is undeniable, but it's her professionalism, kindness, and accessibility that truly set her apart. A true professional! Orooj is a pleasure to work with and a great listener. I loved her ideas and she was so flexible. The end product was within budget, on time and even prettier than I expected. I can’t wait to work with her again!

I can't recommend Orooj and her work highly enough. We moved to Tuscaloosa with very little furniture, and from a distance, she designed and installed 4 full rooms and an entryway. She is very creative, with a modern flair, and has an excellent gift for design. We loved how she incorporated little elements of us into the plan and was able to pull in a pieces seamlessly that were important to us. Orooj is a professional, a great listener, and a real pleasure to work with. We are thrilled with the results.

She is strives for perfection and her work is high quality she has an eye for uniqueness and brings out the personality of the owner in her design. She is a great steward of your dollar. I strongly recommend Orooj Chandiwala. She decorated several rooms and walls in my home. Orooj listened to my ideas in order to fully understand the style I wanted to pursue, then asked several insightful questions and offered great suggestions to help me hone my plan. It really makes the process much easier and yields much better results when a decorator listens patiently in an effort to truly understand your personal style and plan for your home. Orooj is fully aware of new trends as well as traditional ones, giving her a broad expertise that enables her to customize her approach to your particular style. She has a natural desire to please her customers and is very patient and welcoming of differing thoughts and ideas. I was extremely pleased with the result, but perhaps even more, really enjoyed my time with Orooj in developing the plan and putting it all together.
