Dee revolutionised the redesign of the ground floor of our house. Her design and creative input were fantastic but equally importantly for us at the time (you guessed it, we had builder problems!) she delivered practical solutions - brought in new builders and liaised with the team to make stuff happen. She made sure all designs/creative ideas were fully delivered and can be tough when it's needed! She always brought light and good-nature to the project and we are very grateful to her.

I knew as soon as I met Dee and explained to her my vision that she was the right woman for the job, where the job was to re-design the layout and style from top to bottom a 5 bedroom double-fronted Victorian family home. Dee was a superstar from start to finish and I recommend her wholeheartedly. She listens with thoughtful attention, understands, cares, challenges (tactfully!) and is great fun to work with. She turns what could be stressful situations into calm and manageable experiences. Dee is not afraid to question and propose wildcard ideas, which were really helpful in helping me think outside the box and be more brave with some choices. Dee took the time to get to know me, my husband and two children in order to tailor her presentation to suit our personal tastes and needs as a family both now as well as looking to the future. The initial design presentation was stunning and showed that Dee had really taken on board our wishes, sense of style and personality. She was amazing at suggesting layout ideas to maximise space, flow and proposed decor ideas which were a mix of bold and pared back, always ensuring the styling was in keeping with the original Victorian detail of the house. Dee has unlimited patience and is happy to deliberate over the endless possibilities ranging from larger decisions, such as how to design the extension of the kitchen / dining area down to finer detail such as choosing door handles, where the choices can be overwhelming. Dee understands budget constraints and always works within the range given. She has a passion for her work and this really shows, through the development of relationships with us as her clients to ensuring that we were more than happy with every stage of the design process through to the finished product. Dee was always on hand to help be it on Whatsapp, email, weekly visits to the house or a quick discussion on the phone. She she is an incredibly talented designer and injected a lot of fun into our house project with her great sense of humour. The end result is an absolutely beautiful home, which reflects our personal sense of style and is a joy to live in. Thank you, Dee!

Dee has a true gift. She combines an amazing eye and great taste, with a canny ability to get under the skin of her clients to truly understand who they are and what they are looking for. She has managed a couple of extensions for me as well as a major refurb and I have known from the beginning that I can trust her and the team she works with to deliver the highest standards.

We hired Dee to help us design our new home entirely. It was a big project as we refurbished the whole house, did a loft conversion and extension at the back. We had a relative good view of what we wanted and Dee managed to put it all in place while adding the VO touch we hired her for. She warned us of possible flaws in our design without imposing her views and was fine giving us new proposals until we were happy with the results. We wanted to achieve a lot with a relatively tight budget, which initially created difficulties; but Dee got used to our way of taking the time to find the best value possible and we managed to do all we wanted. The project took -as always - longer than expected and we appreciated Dee's patience and flexibility to adapt to the building's schedule. We had little idea however on the interior design and Dee spent time discussing with us and presenting us a few things to try and understand what would work for us. We trusted her entirely on the color choices and the result just works: a subtle interior with dashes of color here and there for that special look. Our project lasted 15 months in total. A lot can and did happen in that time but our relationship with Dee remained very friendly all along. A building project is a stressful experience, meetings with Dee were always a breather during the process.

It's an absolute delight working with Dee and Velvet Orange. I've photographed a lot of Dee's projects over the years and been inspired by her natural artistic flair, use of colour, tone and texture and of course attention to detail and finish. I shoot a lot or architecture and interiors and Dee's work is always so easy capture.. from the wide mood and feel she creates in the spaces down to all the lovely considered details. It's great to work with genuine talent and also super lovely person!

We have found Dee to be meticulous in her work and friendly in her approach. We have worked together with Velvet Orange on several projects in and around London, liaising with Dee and the clients to achieve the perfect wood floor for Dee’s designs. Dee and her team did an amazing job. I asked them to help me decorate the flat I had just moved into and start from scratch. They took a lot of time getting to know me and and my tastes before they started creating a concept and presenting me their ideas. Given Dee's upfront prep, her initial ideas were great but she was also open to my feedback. Dee was skilful in making me step "out of my comfort zone", but in a way that I never felt being pushed beyond where I wanted to go. The result is a stylish flat that really represents me personally. Dee ensured my flat feels like a beautiful home. I wholeheartedly can recommend working with Dee. It is clear that creating beautiful spaces is Dee's passion and this is reflected in the results she achieves.

Dee from Velvet Orange worked with me to transform my house into a home. What struck me about her approach is that she was interested in me and in how to create a space which met my needs - not just from a practical perspective, but also in terms of look, feel and style. My home is about MY taste - not about hers. She designed the space, helped me choose the colours and finishes, and project managed the building and refurbishment work from start to finish. I felt I was in the hands of someone who knew what they were doing. would deal with issues as they occurred and would do their utmost to spare me the stress of the day to day management of the process. Three years on - I still love the result and it still looks amazing.

We were adding a loft to our house and decided to re do every bedroom and bathroom at the same time. I loved the idea of interior decorating my own house but with such a large project, I wanted help to create the look i was after. I knew the look i wanted but i didn't know how to actually acheive it. Dee immediately got me and knew what i was after. She was amazing. She was a joy to rebound ideas off and made the process so much fun. She had amazing ideas which i would have never thought of and i am so pleased with the end result.

A brilliant and friendly team who made the project their own. They not only delivered on time and on budget but went out of their way to make the process effortless and stress free for us. I enlisted the help of velvet orange to transform my bland 'same as any other' victorian terrace into something personal and beautiful that would bring me calm and love my home. The ideas were original and certainly very beautiful and their designs left me feeling they knew what i needed far better than i did. Budgets were met and expectations exceeded and I didn't need to manage a single contractor. I was aware, all the way through, that i would not have managed the project alone, come up with such beautiful ideas or managed half as much on twice the budget. I would not think twice about using them again and in fact feel emboldened, when i next move, to look for a house requiring work as Velvet Orange make that an exciting and less stressful prospect.
