Vivint Smart Home

Absolutely do not use Vivint under any circumstances. Long story short, I recently called to cancel my service. Instead of cancelling, I renewed the service at a lower fee. I have e-mail confirmation of my renewed contract and the renewed rate. Vivint has chosen not to honor that rate, even after I called customer service to explain the situation. Since they will not honor the contract, I of course will not pay the bill (or the portion of the bill that exceeds the rate i agreed to). Their billing department has harassed me looking for payment - I'm talking calls every single day. It's a shame as if Vivint devoted the recourses to customer service that they did to trying to collect on fraudulent charges, then they probably would be able to rectify the customer service issues that many have complained about here.

Sales rep said we could get a takeover kit and continue to use the security system already in the house. Installer said that wasnt possible and we needed to buy their smart hub and sensors. Paid about $1900 for equipment and wasnt too happy when I saw that vivint was advertising almost the same starter package for $599 on their website. Followup from a Vivint rep explained they charge $1799 for the starter package equipment and $20 for monitoring or $599 for the same equipment and the cost of monitoring each month is higher (about $45 per the website) So, you are either getting a discount in monthly monitoring or equipment, but really you will be paying about the same amount, at least $3000 over 5 years. I like the system, it works like it's suppose to. Sales rep was misleading, but the installation and followup customer service were good.

Everything starts falling apart. All the cameras constantly disconnect from WiFi. I have had my trash cans stolen twice and both times the cameras werent working. And to have someone fix anything you have to pay service fees when I have had connection issues since the beginning.

At first I was apprehensive due to the aggressiveness of the sales rep. However, as time went by, he did come through with promises. System has been reliable and online support was there for me. There were times I got frustrated because I couldn't remember my phone pin, but I understood the reason why the representative had to take the side of caution. I'm good now.

I had it installed in Jan. I’m still missing a smoke alarm and another door sensor and it it won’t be don’t until March 1st. The alarm system works good but I think it’s very unprofessional to wait 3 months to completely finish the job.

Cameras never work when I really need them to we had a car broken into the cameras took clips but somehow never caught a picture of the guys in the car rifling through it Tired of having cameras that never seemed to work when I really need them to work

I have been very happy with Vivint. They follow through on whatever needs to be done an they are always courteous. Great company

They were extremely helpful and it was installed quickly. No problems at all. The technician who installed the units even stayed and patiently answered ALL of our questions about how the system works. Everyone was friendly, efficient, and helpful. I would HIGHLY recommend them!! No complaints what so ever.

Very Happy with the system.. Love the camera on the door bell, and that my daughter and son are able to see what is going on at my house, too.

After all the confusion, Vivint did what was professionally correct. Vivint took care of me (Home). It's rare to hear of happy endings after a huge blunder. I appreciate Vivint for standing behind their business. I've been a Vivint customer for over 4 year and continuing on... state of the art equipment and great customer service. The options and features offered by Vivint seem great. Since we’ve had an alarm and camera system, we have had constant issues with the alarm sensors, random activations in the middle of the night for no reason and the camera recording quality isn’t great. I will say, though, that Vivint customer care has been very responsive in trying to resolve any issues we are having. We appreciate the service aspect but would really liked to have a functioning system without so many issues.

While their service men are excellent, their phone staff are poor often not understanding the English language. Also, they often don’t understand the actual equipment that their company installs. That lack of knowledge and lack of communication has caused our security system to be down for weeks at a time. I have frequently complained about this deficiency, all to no avail. Their equipment is excellent, but their phone staff stinks.
