We worked with Nick and his team at Yeates Design and could not have been happier with our choice. Nick struck the perfect balance between practicality and innovation. Nick helped keep the project moving with sensible and workable suggestions and ideas throughout what was a 15-month total renovation. Unlike some architects i have encountered, Nick did not try to push his own agenda, but took our ideas on board, sanity-checked them and added them to his own to help achieve the look and finish we were after, whilst ensuring is was practicable and to a budget. His patient and calm approach during a long project were great assets.

We engaged Yeates Design to work with us on the extension and wholesale refurbishment of our Victorian double-fronted house. It has been a great success. Nick’s approach to planning was meticulous. He made sure we got what we wanted and we encountered very little push-back from the authorities. We used a builder whom Nick knows well. The builder was first class and Nick’s relationship with him ensured that all issues were dealt with professionally and without friction. Nick also assisted us enormously with sourcing of materials - sash windows, flooring etc. He was attentive and totally engaged throughout. The only area where we encountered serious problems was the one in which neither Nick nor the builder had any input. Yes - the kitchen supplier! We would certainly recommend Yeates Design and use the firm again.

Nick and his team configured plans from some long standing ideas and got us from permission to completion with no real stress. His plans were both practical and sympathetic to our requests. He introduced us to a wonderful builder who has dealt with any trial and tribulation with a permanent smile even when we decided on a fairly dramatic change to the cellar. He employed excellent craftsmen who were punctual and cheery every day. We have not had a cross word throughout. We have involved ourselves which has made the whole process fascinating and Nick has ensured we finished close to the original budget. Any problem has been resolved immediately with a lovely degree of charm and without any unnecessary drama.

Extremely proficient at achieving planning approvals by working closely and communicating effectively with local planning bodies. Plans produced were excellent and in keeping with existing period property, but delivering the desired extra functionality to the house. Coordination with contractors was effective, including sourcing very high quality expertise, and drove progress of the overall project. Attention to detail of the final product was superb, and we are delighted with the outcome.

Nick, and Vera did an amazing job on the design and drawings for our loft conversion. Navigating a rerouting of the stairs, a conservation area, neighbours and numerous other challenges they did a brilliant job. The Planning Officer from the Council did a site visit and was highly complimentary - 'Your architect has taken this right to the wire but there are no grounds upon which i can reject this. They've done a great job'.' Highly recommended.

Nick Yeates was a delight to work with! His creative flare and technical expertise allowed us to achieve our goals when others had said it was not possible, and we found him and his team to be not just thoroughly professional but also thoroughly nice! - no question went unanswered and no stone was left unturned in the process of achieving the very best result possible. They showed complete dedication to customer service and their enthusiasm for the process and outcome of our project was palpable......I would say they made us feel as though ours was their most important project even though we knew they had many other clients and projects on their list who doubtless felt exactly the same way! They paid great attention to quality and detail and inspired confidence that allowed us to relax during the entire production phase of the project. They were professional in all aspects of our dealings with them including meeting budgets and deadlines - any slight delays experienced were entirely due to our request to for certain additions as the project evolved. We would not hesitate to recommend Yeates Design LLP to our family and friends - having done quite a few building renovations over the years I can confidently state they are simply the best!!

We used Yeates Design when we decided to extend our kitchen. Nick did a brilliant job at designing a room that maximised both the space and the light. His quickly built an excellent relationship with our builder and his communication with both the builder and us throughout the process was first rate. Nick and Nadia had a clear vision, thought through the detail carefully and were very strong technically; so we now have a very well built and original house with excellent detailing and finish. Our challenge was to double the size of a 200 year old cottage to take full advantage of its hilltop location and views while retaining the look and feel of the original. The result nestles in to the hill sympathetically due to the use of local stone and oak but a glass corner adds a modern twist externally and complements the contemporary interior. Critically the layout works both aesthetically and practically and every room is now well proportioned in height and size. Nick Yeates had great vision and was technically sound.

Yeates Design worked as the Architects and they co-ordinated the construction contractors, during the build. Consistently focused on my requirements and wishes, Yeates Design brought a professionalism and level of quality, to all aspects of the work, that I could not fault. Their expertise and a wide field of knowledge gave great scope to suggest alternatives and "what might work well", when needed, and they always provided me with a high confidence level that what got built would be what I was hoping for. Responsive and always available for answering queries or concerns; Yeates Design kept me abreast of any developments, issues or implications, as I needed to know of them, without unnecessarily burdening me. Their collaborative and proactive approach ensured that everyone was kept informed of any risks and concerns and that any that did arise were swiftly addressed. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend their services, nor would I hesitate to use them for any future works.

We were delighted Yeates Design took on our project from start to a fantastic completion. From selection of builder, chosen design, budget control, monitoring of progress and communication was first class. We are more than happy to recommend Yeates Design and will use their services again.
