Victor Weeks did a fantastic job for us in the complete renovation of our 1930's Manoa home and the design and building of a new garage with a one-bedroom apartment above. He kept the historic feel of the home while updating it to make it comfortable, beautiful and user-friendly for our family. Victor is a pleasure to work with and handled all issues that surfaced during construction. I would recommend Welch and Weeks to anyone needing professional help with an architectural project. A couple of years ago, my husband and I found ourselves looking for an architect to design and manage a pretty major renovation of our “Hawaiian Style” home in Kahala. Initially, Victor’s portfolio appealed to us as it represented both new-builds, as well as renovations, all with beautiful style. After meeting with Victor, I felt assured of his interest in and commitment to our home’s particular design aesthetic and functional integrity. After we hired Welch and Weeks and actually began to work with Victor, things got fun. Vic has a great, yet unassuming sense of humor. He’s extremely articulate and patient when explaining technical things. I always felt he was really listening and willing to make adjustments based on our input. Victor was always very accessible, and the work flow was very efficient. We could not have been happier in this regard. Our punch-list was practically nonexistent, as even the smallest thing was addressed as soon as it was taken notice of, usually by Victor. Victor Weeks, of Welch and Weeks, got me immediately when I had to take down my grandmother’s home due to extensive termite damage and build a new one for my primary residence. I bought a piece of land in the North Shore and started a search for a great architect that could understand my design taste as well. I found Welch and Weeks and soon I found out that it was the best choice. The work flow and the understanding of our wishes, desires and needs were perfect. I am writing to recommend Victor (Welch and Weeks). He designed and supervised the construction of our beach house at Kawela Bay, Oahu. We love the house in large part because of his smart thoughtful design. He listened to our needs, and translated them into a beautiful Hawaiian design. We built the house in 2010 and it has held up to the assault by salt, water, wind and sand from the beach in large part because of his choice of materials. With Welch and Weeks, our project went smoothly and without any preventable delays. During the design phase, Victor Weeks was responsive and collaborative while being mindful of appropriate materials for our beach location. Throughout the building phase, Victor was attentive and frequently communicated with the contractor. Any problem was quickly noted by him and shared directly with the builders. Unlike our previous building experience, this whole project seemed easy and enjoyable. Our punch list was very short.
