Jochen's pressed jugs can be commissioned with a lead time of 4 weeks. While each piece will be similar in shape and size each jug made by Jochen will be unique, due to the nature of the product.
A free blown borosilicate (heat resistant and durable) glass jug with a distinct handle and wood like texture pressed on the interior of the piece, inspired by wooden water pails. Jochen Holz made the jug exclusively with The New Craftsmen as part of the bathing stand at Decorex International 2016. Due to the unique handmade nature of the piece, each vessel will be a one-off.
About Jochen Holz
Jochen Holz originally trained in lamp engineering and design in Germany before moving to Britain to study glass at Edinburgh College of Art and The Royal College of Art. Concentrating on the unusual technique of lamp working, Jochen is one of very few glass artists practising this form of glass blowing in Britain. His design approach is guided by the making process and the flow of hot glass.
