A set of 8 colourful wooden building blocks by Oliver Helfrich, made from Lime wood with hand tools and painted with an array of colours. Representing nature through a simplified, abstract form the totem contains wings, beaks, horns and more; all of which can be assembled into an ever-evolving sculpture with endless possibilities.
Oliver is inspired by the artworks of the earliest civilisations from the neolithic figurines of the Cyclades to the Toussian masks of Burkina Faso. Drawn to the intuitive clarity in which they are able to convey the world around us Oliver aims to combine these symbols with modern shapes and graphics.
