Whether you are making sauces or rice, reheat soup or pasta sauce, our rounded copper saucepans are the right equipment for handling all these tasks quickly. Since copper cookware is much more responsive to temperature changes, it heats up and cools down immediately as you turn the dial on your stove. This makes copper saucepans especially good for making delicate sauces or other tasks. Our copper saucepan comes with a lid and in 3 different sizes. The rounded transition from the base to the sides of the sauce pan makes working the food with utensils very easy. Each of our saucepans is hand-crafted in our workshop in Ravina, Italy using one single sheet of pure 2.5mm thick copper. The saucepan features a long pure brass handle secured with pure copper rivets. The tinning is done using only 100% pure tin utilizing the traditional fire-tinning method. Size & Capacity: 1.4ltr. - W 14cm x H 9.0cm 100% Hand-Crafted in our workshop in Ravina, Italy: As all of our products, our copper saucepans are hand-crafted in the Navarini workshop in northern Italy. The body of our saucepan is constructed from one single sheet of copper ensuring absolute even heat distribution from the base to the sides of the copper saucepan. The handles are made of high quality brass and secured by copper rivets. 2.5mm thick, pure high quality copper: We are using a pure 2.5mm thick copper for our rounded saucepan. Making our copper saucepan equally suitable on gas as well as electric, glass or ceramic stoves. No unwanted hot-spots, air-pockets or loss of efficiency: Other type of materials such as stainless steel or aluminum as well as the way some cookware is constructed, might result in so called inefficient air pockets in the material especially the base. Those inefficient air pockets would allow heat to concentrate on one spot creating unwelcome hot spots over time. The base of the Navarini copper sauce pans will never create any unwelcome hot spots, air pockets or lose any of its superior heat conductivity as it is made out of one sheet of copper. This means that the thermal heat conductivity as well as heat retention will not only be superior to stainless steel or aluminum cookware but will retain its high level of efficiency throughout the lifetime of your Navarini copper cookware. Exceptional heat conductivity and retention: Copper conducts heat twice as fast as aluminum cookware, 5 times faster compared to cast iron and over 25 times faster than stainless steel cookware. This time difference becomes obvious when it comes to heating up or changing the temperature during the cooking process. Changing the temperature on your stove translates into immediate change in temperature in your copper cookware allowing cooking, brown or braising to perfection. Pure brass handles secured with pure copper rivets: Our copper saucepans feature one long handle allowing easy handling as well as to safely carry the food from the stove or oven directly to the table. We only use high quality brass handles on any of our copper products as well as only secure them with pure copper rivets. Hand-hammered for enhanced durability and structure: Our copper sauce pan is entirely hand-hammered. Hand-hammered copper cookware adds strength and enhances the structure & durability of the material. In addition, hand-hammered characterizes true artisanship. High quality, non-reactive & renewable tin-lining using traditional fire-tinning method: We only use high quality, 100% pure and non-reactive tin-lining for our copper products as well as applying the lining utilizing the traditional method of fire-tinning. The advantage is that the heat conductivity of the tin-lining corresponds perfectly with the copper. Hence, translates desired changes of cooking temperature immediately to the food allowing much more cooking control and better results. Compared to other coating materials, our tin-lining can easily be renewed as often as desired and your cookware can be handed onto the next generation. Of all of the pots and pans out there, a quality saucepan is a staple of every kitchen’s cookware collection. They come in a variety of sizes, from a smaller, 16-centimetre saucepan such as a milk pan, or a larger, thick-bottomed stock pot. Whether you are looking for an aluminium, non-stick or stainless steel saucepan, or an all-inclusive saucepan set, Houzz UK can help you find the right fit for your kitchen.

What saucepans are best?

Material is the main factor in determining how a saucepan performs. Let’s have a look at the four main materials used in saucepan production:

Stainless Steel

Stainless steel is a popular option, especially if you’re just beginning your cookware collection. It is strong, non-corrosive and affordable. Since stainless steel is not excellent at conducting heat, you may want to consider purchasing a stainless steel saucepan that has some aluminium or copper in the base. A quality saucepan is usually made from 18/10 stainless steel.

Aluminium

Aluminium saucepans are another good choice for basic food preparation and starter kitchens. They conduct heat well, are lightweight, won’t rust and are affordable. One problem you may encounter with aluminium saucepans is that since they heat up so quickly, food may stick to the sides of the pan. Also, aluminium can pit if exposed to moisture, and end up leaching into your food. Purchasing a hard, anodised aluminium saucepan is a good solution to this problem.

Copper

Copper is the top saucepan for style and also conducts heat extremely well. However, keep in mind that they tend to be more expensive and need to be coated so as not to contaminate food.

Cast Iron

A standard cast iron saucepan is affordable, oven-safe and will last for generations. Cast iron is naturally non-stick, so you can prepare healthy meals with less oil. Another plus is that some of the iron actually gets incorporated into your food, which is especially beneficial to folks who are iron deficient. Some things to keep in mind, however, is that they can rust, require regular seasoning with oil, and are heavier than aluminium, stainless steel or copper saucepans.

Are saucepans dishwasher safe?

The dishwasher can be an excellent timesaver during cleanup, but it’s important to know what can and can’t be cleaned in the dishwasher:

  • Cast Iron: Cast iron should never be put in the dishwasher. Always wash your cast-iron pan by hand.
  • Non-stick: Your non-stick pan should only be placed in the dishwasher if the manufacturer says it’s ok. To be safe, stick to washing by hand.
  • Aluminium: Check the manufacturer’s instructions, as aluminium is prone to dulling and scratching.
  • Stainless steel is the safest bet for cleaning in the dishwasher, but always check your pan first to see if it’s marked as dishwasher safe.
  • Copper: It is not recommended to wash copper pans in the dishwasher, as it will tarnish their beautiful finish.
