About Us

DRY Ltd was founded in 2006 by merging three established practices. The partners Oliver Empson-Ridler and Louise Yates have now developed DRY Architects into an established practice specializing in the high end residential market as well as general housing and commercial projects. Louise heads up the Architectural team and takes the lead in the design process for all projects and maintains involvement throughout acting as the client’s direct interface. Oliver deals with administrative side of the projects and have great experience when it comes to project finances and management. In central London it is often necessary to obtain additional consent from ultimate free holders and we are experienced in dealing with the Estate Departments such as Grosvenor, Cadogan and The Crown Estate, Howard de Waldon Trust, Portman Trust and the Wellcome Trust.

DRY professionally led the complete refurbishment of our country home. They oversaw all the major structural changes, both internally and externally, and transformed the house into an elegant modern space that my family will enjoy for many years to come. One of the most significant part of the project was the redesigning the main staircase. The end result transformed the entire feel of the house and breathed new life into our home. We are very grateful to DRY for holding our hands throughout this process, and we are very pleased with the end result.

Brought on as main contractor this is the second large project we have completed with Dry Architects, each time it’s been a very professional and consistent experience throughout. They achieve and maintain exceptional communication between themselves, us (the contractor) and the client. This is key when dealing with high end luxurious interiors where the finest detail makes all the difference. This project was a huge success with a very satisfied client, this would have been unachievable without the design talent and strict guidance we received from Dry. We very much look forward to working with them in the future.

DRY are without doubt amongst the absolute best Architects in London. If you want advice on how to extend, update or change your period property in any way, look no further. I have been working with DRY for many years during which time they have managed to get planning permission on listed building projects when we thought it was impossible. We have done many projects with them ranging from huge penthouse developments to small flat refurbishments and the results have always been extremely positive. I would have no hesitation at all of using them again or recommending them to other people.

Commented: balusters are they custom?Our builder's metalworker lovingly produced these. The timber handle wraps around the whole of the stair, and in principle the newel posts in the middle landings were not required. The builder we work...

Commented: Those floors are awesome...what wood type and finish are they?Hi, the floor is from The Natural Wood Floor Company. It is engineered oak, smoked white and brushed finish, the boards are 189mm wide and 15mm thick T&G. Hope this helps.
