Kates Design and Drawings

We bought an old Devon cottage with the intention of renovating and modernisation while retaining period character. We did a lot of the work ourselves but employed builders for some of the bigger jobs. Kate helped us with our reconfiguration plans that included moving the stairs, increasing the size of the upstairs bathroom and moving walls to get two good sized bedrooms from one massive and one tiny room. She also prepared plans for building control to knock through the wall of two downstairs rooms so we could create a more functional kitchen and living area. She made suggestions that helped us to improve the natural light in some of the dimly light parts of the property. We are very pleased with the outcome.

Kate gave ideas on how to improve the flow and room use in the house and then went on to do the drawings for the builder/building control. Her energy and enthusiasm for the project helped to drive it forward. Would definitely consult her again.

Kate took on board everything we wanted and her design was exactly how we’d envisaged it and more. It was on a tricky site that included a well and odd levels - nothing was a problem.

We have found Kate to be extremely professional, conscientious and reliable. She has taken time to understand our requirements for our new house while at the same time giving us very practical suggestions. She is sensitive to the environment and we now have a design that is aesthetically pleasing and fits the brief better than we could have imagined.
