I wanted to wait a while before writing this review to give time for us to live in the space that Alex designed for us. We count ourselves lucky that we found Alex and agreed to take him on for our project. Even after 4 or 5 months, I still regularly stop and appreciate the clever but unfussy design. We’ve had guests who’ve commented that it’s the best ground floor extension they’ve seen! Alex took time to listen to our needs - what was wrong with our home’s old layout and what we wanted in an ideal world. He delivered what we said we wanted and what we didn’t realise we wanted too. We owe a lot of the way we now live our day to day life to Alex’s design. He could knock on our door any day of the year, including Christmas Day, and we would give him a warm welcome!

Alex and Peyton were fantastic for our extension/ house renovation. Their designs were thoughtful, creative and practical, and their knowledge of the planning process and conservation rules were helpful. Alex also did a great job of managing the build, problem solving and working closely with the builders throughout.

We were very lucky to have Alex Ball as our architect. We were doing a small extension in the back of the house and are grateful that Alex decided to help us giving us a wonderful design and we have now got something amazing. He was thorough and detailed in all aspects and very quick to respond and help us with any issues. He was taking care of the build from start till end, always looking out for us. I would highly recommend him to anyone. He was a pleasure to work with.

Alex provided an excellent architect design and build management from commencement of the project through to the build completion. The build was completed within the expected time and costs kept within my budget. I am thrilled with the finished extension and can thoroughly recommend Alex to provide an expert, knowledgeable and professional service.

We had been unsuccessful in our attempts to redevelop a large family owned green belt site for over 20 years. After several failed applications it was looking like we would never be able to redevelop the site. We contacted RMA because of their experience in unlocking difficult sites and their history of working closely with Local Authorities. RMA were very attentive and along with listening to our story they did a detailed review all of the past applications and similar applications in the area. RMA summarised where we may have gone wrong in the past (thankfully not dwelling on this for too long) and came up with lots of ideas of how we could take the site forward. After discussing all the pros and cons of each option we settled on a final strategy that would unlock the site and begin the steady process of redevelopment. RMA's knowledge of the planning system and experience on how to approach the planning process was invaluable. RMA really helped us clarify our thoughts and they have restored our confidence in the project! We are very grateful for the time and effort they spent on the scheme and we are looking forward to the next steps.

RMA were fantastic to work with and completely transformed my initial ideas into something much better than I could have achieved on my own! I had recently purchased a property at auction with the intention of completely refurbishing it and selling it on for profit. The original idea was to move the bathroom upstairs replacing the smallest bedroom and add a dormer roof extension to maintain the three bedrooms as others had done on the street. After coming onboard RMA ran a cost benefit analysis on my initial proposal and suggested there was a cheaper alternative option that would still achieve my aims. Rather than change the smallest bedroom into the bathroom (which would have meant I was left with an oversized bathroom) RMA proposed portioning off a section of the largest bedroom and adding the bathroom there. This would leave me with 3 good sized bedrooms and an appropriately sized bathroom all without the time and cost of adding a dormer extension. This also meant I could attract a wider variety of buyers as the property still had potential to be extended in the future. As a result of the new approach RMA were able to deliver the project more quickly and more cost effectively than I had originally planned. RMA also managed the whole tender and construction of the project, making the whole process as stress free as possible. I really cannot recommend RMA highly enough!

We got in touch with RMA to design a garden office for us back in the summer. We wanted something different to the “off the shelf” products you can find online and RMA provided just that. Not only was their eye for detail and craftsmanship exceptional, but their professionalism and creative desire to get us what we wanted for the space really impressed me. We couldn't be happier with our garden office, it's such a wonderful addition to our home, providing us with great flexible space that we use all year round. We would highly recommend RMA!

Our project was the renovation and reconfiguration of the ground floor of a period property. I found RMA to be very personable and they had great ideas. Their use of virtual reality helped us to understand all of the rooms and how they would flow into one another. Being able to see the rooms as if they were already built gave us confidence in the project. I would happily work with RMA again.

RMA have been extremely helpful throughout the whole process. I was nervous about taking on such a big project but they have held my hand through it all and I’m extremely happy with the end product. Highly professional and very creative...would highly recommend to anyone.

I have worked with rma for over 6 years. Recently, Team rma acting in their capacity as Architect, Lead Designer, Landscape Architect and Interior Architects have been working on an incredibly complex bespoke new-build private house. The team at rma have worked tirelessly, with meticulous attention to detail which has resulted in a stunning outturn product. During the early stages of the project, the 3D virtual model that has been created proved invaluable in helping develop the design and assisting the client’s understanding of how the finished product could look. This helped greatly in obtaining approval from the client in terms of materiality selection. The team at rma have worked extremely well with the wider design team and indeed have pushed the other designers to help ensure the architecture of the building is not compromised by design. Whilst challenging, this has resulted in a truly one off piece of architectural merit. The project included a protracted planning application which ended up going to committee and resulted in the head of planning commenting that the scheme 'is one of the finest examples of architecture' he had seen in his career on the planning committee. Whilst contentious (from a planning perspective) the scheme was debated very little at committee as the design had been so carefully thought through to ensure the building minimised impact on the surrounding area.
