Martin Blake Associates (MBA ) provide a professional service and high quality design solutions. I have used MBA for several refurbishment and extension projects to my mid century house because our dreams and aspirations have always been enhanced and turned into realistic proposals. The latest project was for the refurbishment and extension of our sitting room completed Autumn 2017 and the result has been extremely pleasing. MBA provide options , a concept , detailed drawings for planning permission and a specification for the builder and building control - always meeting deadlines. MBA work closely with recommended builders which enable realistic budgets to be met.

We would highly recommend Martin to anyone looking for architectural services. We used Martin create a grand scheme for our house and gardens. He then did all of the design work for our large house which needed a complete refurbishment from top to bottom. Martin took care of all the planning and listed building consents that we needed and dealt with all of the delicate negotiation with the council. He is a very easy chap to get on with, has great ideas, good attention to detail and brings enthusiasm to everything he does.

Martin took our run-down, dark and damp, turn of the century house and transformed it into a light and contemporary home. He struck the perfect balance between modern and traditional and made the whole house so much more usable and practical. He maximised the south-facing aspect with a new kitchen-diner with lots of light and made the garden feel part of the house. He transformed a pokey roof space with higher ceilings, light tubes and velux windows. Without the 'before' photos, it's difficult to believe that such a transformation could be possible. Martin designed and managed the entire project and successfully mediated between us and the main contractors when we didn't see eye to eye. We definitely won't shop around for an architect when we undertake our next project, we'll just talk to Martin.
