Initially set up in 2006 as Studio Lundi by Olaf Olafsson and Julia Bradburn, our aim continues to provide quality design and creative support for our clients. Now part of the Martin Ralph Group, which is a progressive and comprehensive property consultancy, we provide a fully integrated and unique “One Stop Shop” service through our key divisions; land, architecture and surveying, which means that any size project can be can be managed by a single team of professionals – from land acquisitions right through to project completion. Our core sector is Residential but we have a considerable experience in Education, Health and Commercial projects. We believe that one should learn from the past, respect the current context, interpret the client’s brief and create beautiful spaces.

I was introduced to Olaf Olaffson to design and progress a planning application for a new build property on my existing land and gain planning permission for the construction of a 2 bed chalet style property. I am delighted with the design and achieved full planning permission in Jan 2016. I have subsequently instructed the firm to prepare plans and specifications for the project and am currently awaiting approval from building control and discharge of conditions. I would have no hesitation in recommending this firm for their innovation and professionalism.

Martin Ralph were recommended to us to assist in structural calculations and design drawings for a large home renovation. Due to challenging planning issues Martin Ralph really proved their worth in assisting us with new designs to accommodate the planning restrictions. As with all Design and Build projects things are ever changing and Martin Ralph acted promptly updating changes as and when needed. They offered advice and solutions throughout but have always been good at listening to our exact needs (something we've found challenging with other architects in the past). Both Jason and Olaf have acted professionally throughout our relationship with them and are a pleasure to work with. I was a trustee of a charity that recently received crucial guidance and advice from Martin Ralph Architects on a project intended to provide a new community centre linked with social housing. The investigation we requested required sensitive negotiations in all aspects of design, planning and contractor involvement over twelve months. Martin Ralph Architects completed plans of a development to a most satisfactory standard for public consultation. Due to regrettable actions of others opposed to the project it failed to come to fruition. In personally overseeing the interests of the charity Richard Martin and his colleague Olafur Olafsson the specific architect on the project design both performed with commendable professional skill and expertise. Their patient and reliable communication gained the respect and co-operation of local and county authorities which enabled the authorities to give full support to the negotiations.

Martin Ralph have been providing our business, with designs, surveyors and project managers since we launched in 2014. They designed a detached 3 bedroom house, which was sold earlier this year. A full refurbishment and conversion of an opticians in the heart of Chichester and just last month we completed a large extension, which saw a small 2 bedroom bungalow, converted into a 5 bed, 2 storey stunning family home. Martin Ralph are always professional from conceptual design to final build. We have no hesitation on introducing our clients, as we know they will get an excellent service, whatever their needs.

We had an excellent collaborative experience with Martin Ralph Architects. My husband and I had some firm design ideas which we wanted to include with our project to renovate and extend our house and Martin Ralph helped us to make these ideas a reality! We also had some excellent advise into some design features we had not considered which work so well as an end result. All our plans for building permission were handled by Martin Ralph which allowed for a very easy process with the planning authority. It seems that so many people fall out with their architects when undertaking such projects hence it is so important to ensure a total collaborative working relationship to enable the clients dreams to come true. From beginning to end of our project Martin Ralph Architects were professional, considerate and creative. Their team were always available for advice or comment and we are 100% pleased with the final design. The finished product is a home we are proud of and which uniquely blends with the mature conservation area it sits within, yet, incorporates contemporary features that are both subtle and stunning. Visitors and public repeatedly comment on its appeal and transformation. The overall project was a product of diverse input but conceptually our architect Olaf Olafsson was the major influence and the result is testament to his ability. We never plan to move again.
