We used Charlotte and her team from beginning to end and where delighted with the service and quality of the work we received. I’ve worked with Mass Architecture as a building contractor for several years now and more recently as a client on a £300k new-build, contemporary eco-house project. They are experienced and accomplished designers/project managers that go the extra mile to ensure that their clients are completely happy with the end result. We were especially thrilled when our house won a 2019 York Design Award. Furthermore, they are easy to work with and professional at all times, and when challenges inevitably arise on building projects, they have always been quick to respond and proactive in providing practical solutions. I have recommended Mass on a number of occasions with complete confidence and will continue to do so.

My brief to MASS was a little vague; all I knew was that I was looking to build a modest eco-house in my garden. I wanted something modern, unique and visually striking. A challenge in itself, but in this case compounded by sitting in the garden of a large Victorian house with which it would have to be sympathetic, and being within a conservation area. MASS were brilliant at turning my vague ideas into something that worked, in every way. My involvement was primarily with Charlotte but I found the whole team to be responsive, open to ideas (even stupid ones from me) and professional in everything they did. There were numerous hurdles; not least the layers required to gain planning consent. Despite reticence within some quarters of the local planning team Charlotte demonstrated both a tenacious commitment to the project and a genuine belief in the benefits it would bring to the area. Charlotte has maintained an involvement throughout every stage of the project, including its construction. We now have a beautiful modern, unique and striking house with impressive ecological credentials. Externally it never ceases to attract attention, internally it could not be more comfortable. I approached MASS knowing nothing about architecture nor, to be honest, a clear idea about what I wanted. They helped, guided supported and, where necessarily, took control throughout. I have been delighted with my experience and would not hesitate to engage them again if/when I next have a project.

Mass were absolutely brilliant on our build, we wanted to do a modern but respectful extension to our 1700s house. They came up with great ideas, fantastic tradespeople and were friendly and professional.
