Merrett Houmoller Architects

Merrett Houmøller was set up in 2014 by architects Peter Merrett and Robert Houmøller. We have a diverse portfolio, having worked on residential, public and commercial buildings. We are interested in creating places and buildings but our practice is not limited to this. We are interested in design as a process of 'making' . The relationship between the client and the architect is important. Every project is different. We want builidngs to be about our clients, the end users of the building, and the place where the building lives. We believe that architecture should be for the greater good. We are relatively young and still optimistic. Both Peter and Robert have taught design at Oxford Brookes University. Teaching is important to us because it keeps us on our toes, giving us a wider perspective and encouraging us to be rigorous in our thinking.
